so far there is no rain in the forecast for the upcoming weekend. Last rain predicted is just a few showers on Friday. Warming trend into the upper 60s.

It will be cold enough to want some heat in the mornings and evenings. Propane fireplace plus perhaps it is a good idea to bring along some of the portable propane heaters if folks want to gather outside in the evenings. No doubt more than a few folks have a Mr. Buddy heater

Regarding fires at Dash Point, I just checked the we site the update posted 9/15 says level 4 - gas/propane self contained camping stoves and portable gas/propane fire pits allowed. No charcoal or wood fires allowed.

I saw on the news today that some restrictions had been lifted. I have a call into the park for clarification. I'll update here if there is any change.

Also, I will have extra tables and a frame canopy and a tarp canopy as needed..

Dave--sounds good.

We tally 10-12 people, 8-15 at the outsides.
Not counting furfolks.

We have 3 pop-ups though if you'll talk to Paul about it we may not need that many. We also have 2 card tables but again, you and Paul can put your heads together?

I have a feeling everyone is going to contribute enough gear, propane fire, tables, etc., to let us have a good gathering. I hope we can all make some connections with other Seattle area folks.

I'll be there Thursday afternoon/evening...Paul is there now, having a little personal time.

We may even have a park ranger join us for the dog events. I tally 7 -10 dogs.

BEST
Kai

Burn ban was lifted but they say check with website/individual parks to be sure.

Have fun, everyone, sorry to miss it!

Dash Point is down to level 2- fires in fire pits, charcoal, etc, all allowed. (Off the WSP website.)

Great news, gathering around a wood fire will make it more fun and more comfortable for the warmth

I just looked at the forecast, mostly clear but some fog, no rain predicted. Fog means wet tables and benches. Be prepared...

Hi, All, Dave, k c, Bobbie!

Thanks for all the updates on the burn ban and the weather!

Here is Paul's CELL PHONE: 1-425-306-7881. He's camped at Dash Point right now and can easily walk over to the rangers and make sure...though it sounds like the fire pit is a GO.

Some wood will travel would be super, Dave!

That'll be more fun!

Paul cannot text. 1-425-306-7881

Yes. I got a message back from the park saying they lifted the ban this morning. Stage 2 allows fires in designated fire pits. We will bring a large basket of wood, mostly branches up to about 3" to share.

Heading out after lunch tomorrow, so we hope to arrive around 4. See you all there.

Hi, Dave, OK! Thanks for checking on that!

Weenie Roast is back at your site, #39, if that's still OK with you. We'll bring mustard, ketchup, and squeeze relish.

And extra weenies & some baked beans.

K

Good to go. Anyone with a little extra wood, maybe larger pieces, would be appreciated.

Bring your buns and dishes. I'll grab some chips.

sooveroo,

HI!

Yes! We had TWO campfires, Friday and Saturday, and other than the REALLY cold night Thursday, we could hardly have asked for better weather.

We had JUST enough firewood--we decided to have another fall meet in 2018,
I'll Hostess it again, and we're calling it SAFE: Seattle Area Fall/Fiberglass Event.

Hope to see you and others there.

Meanwhile--Happy Trails and Happy Camping!

BEST
Kai

We had a great weekend. Thank you Kathleen and Paul for all your hard work. Looking forward to next year already.

I got some pictures of the trailers (not all of them), the FFFF, aka, furry footed friends follies, and the potluck. I'll share them when I get a chance.

Dave, great, thanks! The pics will be very welcome.

Bobbie, Yes, the group liked Dash Point.

ALL--There were enough trailer sites we could easily double our group size. ALSO, they have four non-reserved slots for last-minute trailers, with services. Only one was taken, with Connie, one of ours. The other three stood empty.

I'll start a new thread in January for the 2018 SAFE (Seattle Area Fall/Fiberglass Event). Will be same place, about the same time.

We had 11 rigs, a wonderful assortment of eggs, old and new, 17 camping people and 6 visitors, 10 dogs incl. 1 visitor, 1 cockatiel, one kitty, and an assortment of wild bunnies, squirrels, and crows.

Dash Point State Park is an "urban wilderness." We had a quiet campground; even the planes going overhead weren't bad, quiet fellow-campers, clean restrooms and were close enough to places of interest and supplies that we did well. We hiked, kayaked, ate out, shopped, repaired rigs...a bit of everything. The pet event went very well.

We could hardly have had better weather, especially for last quarter of September, and our two campfires were welcome.

Happy camping, happy trails till we meet again.,
BEST
