Hi all, we're pencilled in for site 62, Dairy Creek East. Looking forward to seeing all our old friends, including the ones we haven't met yet.
Cheers
Ian

Rally visitor?

Hi folks,

First post here :-/

I'm working on my plan to have a tow vehicle and 13' fgtt within the year (both used).

I'm doing research now, and would like to get my eyes on some trailers and talk shop with some knowledgable folks in person.

I'm considering coming up from the SF Bay Area to visit the Spring NOG (friends in Portland, won't necessarily camp). Is that a good idea? Does it make sense? Are there scheduled events during the rally I should know about? Somewhere closer to me that you recommend? Any and all suggestions welcome

Thanks!
Allegra

Absolutely you can come out and hang out and look and ask questions and on and on. There's even cabins in the park if you'd like to stay with us. They're not right in the loops we're camping in, but close enough where you won't feel rushed or feel like you're missing something. AND, you're welcome to join in any of the fun as well. I won't be publishing a "schedule of events" until closer to the gathering, but it typically doesn't change much from events passed. Check out this link for the last one: 2017, Oct 5-8: Fall NOG - Northern Oregon Gathering

If you have any questions, post and we'll try to get them answered.

WooHoo!

I have asked for this time off work and Im really looking forward to checking out the rally. Im pretty sure after seeing all these trailers I will have made up my mind about which one works for me and then its down payment time!!

Is there any area to van camp? Im thinking of doing an overnighter, but if not, Im just down the road in Salem. So excited to see all the rigs and meet people who are living the trailer life! Cheers!

Ramona... you're coming from Florida? No, I saw where you're in Salem

If there are sites still available, snag one. Join us for all the fun and activities. Actually Salem is quite a ways away from the park. You'd find other places a lot closer... even the beach!

About an hour and a half? Or is that being too optimistic? Im really looking forward to seeing all these rigs. Online photos are a limited and its impossible to get a feel for them....😀

Yeah, optimistic. You might Google, Camping Around Vernonia, Oregon. I see 3 or 4 campgrounds that are just within minutes of L.L. Stub. You may prefer that to driving. Whatever you'd like to do, we're just glad you're coming!

Could one in a van park at the walk in campsites. I assume walk in are not reservable? Maybe all those parking spots are full too. I would put a tent at the walk in part and then sleep in the parking area in my van!

Just wondering for a previous poster. I am stuck in the snow in mainnesota.

I just checked ReserveAmerica for two nights Fri/Sat 4/27 & 4/28. There are four tent sites and one RV site still available. See this map... in blue are still available.

Talking

Ok, Im in! I reserved tent site 28 for Friday night. That will give me a much better chance to meet folks and ask them about the pros and cons of their specific trailer, rather than just spending a couple of hours.

Forgive my ignorance, but do I just go site to site and look at trailers?! I feel like people may give me the stink eye if I start circling their home, like Im casing the joint! Is I rude to ask to go check out the inside? Im really interested in how people put their own stamp of individuality on their trailers, the different organizational hacks, and mods to make a small space more functional.

Very excited! If I had a tail, it would be wagging
