17th Fiberglass Rally @ Lake Casitas, October 25th-28th, 2018

Hi Fiberglass Rally participants,

This year our 17th Fiberglass Rally at Lake Casitas will be held Thursday October 25th through Sunday October 28th.

Some folks reserve their space a day or so early and some stay a day or two after the Rally. It's all up to you.

Mark your calendar in April for the date in October that you want your reservation to start.

180 days before the day you arrive, you can call or go online to make your camping reservations.

As in years past, the BASS sections fills up right away, so you'll want to make your reservation on the date in the following chart.

This chart, according to the Park office, is the date you make your reservation (in the left column) and beside it (in the right hand side), is the date you want to arrive:

I called the Park and they said they are now taking phone reservations on the weekends. So you can call at 8am or go online to make your reservation.

We're looking forward to another great Rally! Some of the events planned so far include "Big" Tips & Tricks, Rig Weighing, Rock Painting, Chili Cook-off, Talking Stick, Jewelry Making, Ice Cream Social, Open House, Weiner Roast, Pet Parade with a Halloween theme and our infamous Pot Luck. We're always open to what you'd like to bring to our itinerary so just let us know what it is.

If you want to join us in BASS please check Lake Casitas's reservation page every now and then. This week we had some changes and as i print this now, July 17th at 10pm site B37 is open.
If you do get a site please send me your info so Jim and I can let you know of rally updates.

Hi, I'm in Northern California, and just bought my 2006 Freedom Deluxe 17 on Saturday, and am looking at the rally calendar.

Re the Lake Casitas rally Oct 25-28, is there a website with more info?

I figured out (at the Lake Casitas Rec Area site) that "BASS" refers to a camping "park" named Bass. Is this where the rally attendees congregate?

What other parks (sections) are nearest Bass, since the Bass sites are all (currently) reserved? I see Angler, Creekside, Deer, etc.

Congratulations on your purchase of the Casita and becoming a member of the family of fiberglass eggs! I think you'll find we're a close knit group and sometimes we're just like family!
I went online to the Lake Casitas reservations site and there is one spot left in the Bass section-B37. It doesn't have hook ups. You can get water and there is a dump in the park. Do you have solar yet? If you do you might want to consider this spot. If not then the closest with electric and water hookups is Egret. But you'd still have to drive, bike or walk to Bass from Egret.
We don't have a website to let folks know about this rally. I post information at this site and 2 others, casitaforum.com and casitaclub.com . Once you PM me with your info I will then keep you in the loop, via BCC, of emails that I or Jim Johnson send out. Please do not send your info over this public forum.
Bass is where most of us are camped and yes this is where all activities happen. If you read at the end of our page you can see some of the activities we've done in previous years.
Once we get closer to Oct I'll have an itinerary and that will give folks an idea of what to expect at the rally.

B-37, unfortunately, is a tent site.

So unless you have a special arrangement with management for us RVers to use a tent site, I don't think it's an option.

There are RV sites in Egret and Fox, so I may get one of those. Need to think this through a bit.

I don't have any arrangements with the park as to who get what kind of site. The tent camp sites only mean there are no hookups- electricity and water.
This site B37 is sloped, I do know that so if you're not comfortable backing into a sloped area I'd pass on it.
When you look at each site in Egret or Fox be aware of shade. It does get warm at Lake Casitas and you might want shade, or maybe not. You can click on each picture of the site and it'll make the picture larger for viewing.
History has it that folks cancel closer to the rally so if you want to wait for a cancellation just keep checking the lake's reservation site for openings.
