When was the drone video taken. I came on Friday in my Bigfoot 17 and it seemed far more dense with campers. LOL, In fact I ripped my brake lines off going cross country to try and find a spot.

I know it was 2017, I was wondering what day. I'm thinking early in the week before most had arrived or after Sunday when most had left.

I will be around that area during Feb but if I do show up at that rally I realize after seeing the drone footage that I won't be blending into the crowd, the lone scarlet tanager in a flock of white birds.

I plan to make it for the first time this year. Any suggestions for major places to visit along the way would be much appreciated.

Last years' rally had, I think, over 200 eggs of all sizes. If you like rocks there's plenty there for sure. Tried driving across one of the sharp gullies in a foolish attempt to take the road up the mountain and nearly knocked off the front skirt of my truck. The ladder jack competition looked like fun but the evening sit-down and sing-along concerts was more my speed. I bought a nice outdoor carpet mat for $15 and, a nice bottle jack, at the big flea market in town.

Lots of rocks, for sure. I road my mountain bike with no suspension a fair bit and there were times it was pretty rough. This year I may bring the full suspension bike.

I'm always on the look-out for a fold-em-up motorized tricycle myself.

We hope to attend for our 1st time with our new Escape 19'er. Do we need to register or do anything else in advance?

Major Bummer concerning Havasu! We procrastinated way too long! I just went to the registration site and "The Rodeo grounds" are officially sold out! There is a notice stating that they will start accepting reservations shortly for 2020. Looks like we will be hobo camping and scrambling for showers and water.

Just a reminder - there is a BLM dispersed area across AZ 95 that is actually closer to the fireworks than the Rodeo Grounds. It fills up fast, but is also a great place to watch the shows.

Thanks Jon, however after staying a week or 10 days at Dome Rock without handy water or showers we'll be needing a little bit of civilization. It's my fault 100% for not taking care of business. We'll make due somehow.

We have never done Quartzite and have wondered about it so please post insight after your visit. If during your travels you need a great spot to stay look into Jojoba Hills SKP park in Aguanga CA. near Temecula. Need to be an Escapee member but can sign up at the office.

For those that are interested in photos of the Quartzsite Gatherings, I have a link to the last one, and more links from there to older ones. I spend much of the winter in Quartzsite at the Long Term Visitor Area, and have journals that cover Quartzsite that can be found in the indexes.

There are showers in Quartzsite at the laundromats.

That's a fold up electric bike Greg is riding. He will most likely be at the rally in Feb.
