Thanks Jon, you are a wealth of good information. Additionally, I must say I really enjoy reading your blogs as you travel as well as your past adventures. Very informative.

You certainly are welcome Walt. When are you coming down? You may be a bit underwhelmed though. I liken it to a sports car. It sure is pretty and it pulls really well but I'd rank it pretty low for usability. Almost no black water capacity, the hot water is 110v, the fridge is tiny (still havent put in the new 12v compressor fridge). The bed is awkward, and the bathroom has no door lol.

Depending on how our Mexican dental work goes, we will be there on the 4th at the latest.

Still have other things to do. Camping on The Strip in Las Vegas for the next few nights. Totally roughing it!

Good to know about the Waste Transfer Station. By the time my second year is done there, I will just about know the whole area.
Hey Jim, the RV Pit Stop has a “vending” machine for filtered water. You drop a quarter in it and it starts delivering water thru a hose for a timed interval. It delivers 5 gallons (or so, usually a bit more.). It’s been the same deal for the past 3 years. We’ll have to turn you on to the “dollar cheeseburgers” after four o’clock at this little roadside joint somebody showed a couple of years ago. And I’m sure you know about Silly Al’s.

I'm game to be clued in to all those things. I have no idea about Silly Al's.

I went and got water at the pit stop today. No more 25 cent 5 gallon fill ups. It is now 25 cents per gallon and $1 for 5 gallons. Still a pretty good deal. Plus those hoses reach clear to your truck bed so that you don't have to load and unload at the water filling station.

They have the poor camp host issuing permits. So far I've been by there place 4 times and there is a sign saying camp host off duty. I'm not sure what we are supposed to do in this situation.

As usual during the "Big Tent" week, the water fill station at La Posa South is closed from 6:00PM to 6:00AM to allow the well to recover. Dumpsters are being dumped & the dump station is still open.

Unless things change, the host for Dome Rock is not issuing permits during the government shutdown. I talked with the rangers (there are still a few roaming the Long Term Visitor Area) and they said watch for the flags to go up at the Dome Rock (or other 14 day areas) host & LTVA entry stations. At that point, they expect you to get a permit for either area.

As to Silly Al's, an excellent pizza/bar on Main Street. They have the best vegetarian pizza I've ever had. Believe it or not, they put cashews on it!

While being very much in meat eater, I love a good veggie pizza, and the idea of cashews sounds great. Might have to check that place out this year.

Good to know, I would have missed it. The last two nights the moon has been huge and close to full so I imagine we should have a great view.

Wow, just totally wasted 2 hours of my life. If you were planing on coming to Quartzsite early to attend the big tent RV show don't waste your time. There is very little having to do with RV's. We saw no less than 8 orthopedic shoe insert booths, several spine correction pillows, insurance, time shares, etc etc. I will know better next year.
