Cool A Survey

How many egg owners living around the Everett-Seattle-Olympia area would like to have NOGs nearby?
Some points I have thought of:
1. Are there enough retirees to have events during the week?
2. How would you feel about using private RV Parks as opposed to State Parks?
Private parks have meeting rooms that groups can use for activities like jigsaw puzzles, card playing, board games, pot-lucks, etc.

If there is enough interest, maybe we could get started on something. This fall?

Roger... a thought on private campgrounds for NOGs.

We attended a Texas Casita rally in a private campground, actually one of the better rallies we've ever attended. At this rally they doubled up, each camp site had two eggs, easy to do in a space designed for giant fifth wheels and motorhomes. It reduced the price, allowing the owner to still have regular customers and knocked camping fees down.

At Duluth they allowed doubling but charged the same.

Smile Private vs state

We used to belong to a Good Sam local chapter. We miss the gatherings at the private campgrounds once a month. They were all retirees and had outings during the week. This is nice because one then has week-ends free for family activities, church, etc. I am hoping to get something like that going with FGRV people.

I thought NOG stood for North Oregon Gathering. If so, wouldn't yours be a NWG? Or maybe WWG (West Washington Gathering)?

I'd be up for it. I'm not all that fond of private parks but would possibly come, depending on the park. They do tend to make organizing easier. And some of the state parks have nice group areas though that makes organizing a lot harder (someone has to pay and then collect money or vice versa.)

Also too late in fall I'd be out as my trailer is pretty small to hang out in in bad weather.

Washington Survey

Hi Roger
Add me to your list - always looking for a reason to get away. We have been using mostly the state parks as there are several reasons to qualify for discounted fees.
Heading over to a WA. beach after the NOG.

Smile NOG or WAG

Everyone,

Donna D used NOG for her gatherings because of the double meaning: Northern Oregon Gathering and Non Organized Gathering. We really like her gatherings but the Oregon border is 164 miles for us and then to get down into the state any distance adds miles quickly.
We have had the Taidnapam and Mary Hill get togethers in Washington as Washington Area Gatherings WAGs. I like the non organized aspect so maybe we could have WA-NOGs.

LOL

Possum has been nice enough to make little presentations and post them on You Tube. I don't see one for the 2014 WAG, but here is the 2013:

There are also videos for the 2011 and 2012 as well as some NOGs. Watch for me wearing my avatar!

Smile Thinking

I used to get paid for thinking. LOL

We were thinking in the next couple of weeks at one of our favorite parks, Elma RV Park:

Elma RV Park

We have to coordinate with the park to make sure they don't already have a group booked because that would preclude use of the clubhouse.

You can certainly call your gathering whatever you wish. I just respectfully ask that you don't call it Spring NOG or Fall NOG. Don't want to confuse participants!

I'd think with all the wordsmiths on the forums you could come up with a title for your gathering that's uniquely your own.

How about WAFOC? Washington Friends Out Camping. You could then make a banner... Meet the Fockers!

I'd be on board for this. It would be nice to have some "local" events just a tad closer to home. Nothing against Donna's Oregon gatherings, which are always fun too. Just having something a little closer would be cool too.

Folks, don't take what I wrote too literal. The point was, you can come up with a unique name.

The group that's been gathering at Taidnapam (in WA state) for a number of years, call that gathering the WAG, direct link: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...tml#post436407
