We have a group going to Tortilla Flats Campground on March 7, 8 and 9th. You must have t Tonto Pass which is available on line at Tonto Forest Website or Tonto Pass. If you have a National Passport, the fee is $3 a night with water and sewer on all sites and flush toilets. If you do not have a passport, it is $6.
Nice level, gravel sites with picnic table and fire grill on all sites. Tortilla Flats Restaurant in area has some good food and a couple of small shops make up the rest of Tortilla Flats at the start of the Apache Trail. Canyon Lake is also a mile or two down the road before the Tortilla Campground, on the left. It has a Marina with boat rides and also a restaurant if anyone is interested.
We are having a dessert social if anyone is interested. Just bring a dessert to share. No formal plans, just a few people getting together but anyone is welcome. Directions are on website or follow Rt. 85 from Apache junction which will lead straight to campground.

Sorry, I am unable to make it, but for those of you who may be thinking about it... Tortilla Flats is really unique and beautiful. The history of Tortilla Flats is also VERY interesting. Have fun to anyone going and while you are there, go to the diner. Sit on a saddle at the counter and order a bowl of chili, kick back and read the walls. You will be amazed!!! Happy camping !!!
