Anything happening 2013?

I can't find any posts for rallies in Pa or NY! Is anyone interested or did I just miss it?

There is nothing on the Rally map either. There is usually one in the fall sometime though.

Just pick a place (where folks can make reservations), a date (don't try to please everyone) and post! Someone will show up. It has to start somewhere. And trust me, it grows quickly and happily

August or October is good for us. We missed the rally last year and were really bummed.

August Ok with me too. Just not first weekend. I do not camp in private campgrounds. Anyone have any ideas?

July thru October good. Jim's/Sue's "Mid-Atlantic" in July the past two yrs. held in PA KOAs and Jim's Hurricane Special last October in private CG also. Anyone think the private campgrounds offer some advantages over state parks? They are looking to fill their sites particularly in the fall and discounts on a pre-arranged bloc of sites are possible. What are the advantages of SPs for rallies?

The issue I have with State Parks, at least here in Pennsylvania is that their costs are rising to a point to be within $10 of a KOA without cable or internet availability. In addition, out of state residents may have to pay more.
I'm thinking about the first weekend in October in New York here : Copake KOA | Camping in New York | KOA Campgrounds

Jim that's a bit far for us to come and see some eggs especially since we'll probably be living in MB then. But from the location looks like you'll get some interest from New England.

While it is not in NY, it is just across the border at Niagara Falls, Ontario: The Niagara Wine Escape, September 13 - 15, at the Riverside Park Campground

Jim - Ed and I plan to take a ride down and check out the KOA in Copake some time in the next few weeks. It's just about an hour from here. If you want to go ahead and set it up, I'm sure you will get a good crowd.

Funny story - just as we were leaving the Tremont campground in Townsend, I stoped in the ladies room and a woman there commented on my I Love NY shirt and asked if I was from NY. Turns out she went to HS three blocks from our house! They live in Blue Mountain Lake in the Adirondacks and were on their way to Florida. She said she would love to attend a rally in NY!

Thanks Jon for the info on Niagara, I had told Alf we would try to make that - it all depends on when our place northwest of Toronto sells and we move out west.

Sue,
Please give us a report upon return. If it is a good one then we will set it up for the first weekend in October, a "Fall Egg Rally in the Valley". Everyone else pencil in the date and we can make it in ink upon their report. Thanks Sue, glad to have run into you again in Tennessee. I'll post it on the map upon Sue's review.

We'd probably attend from Rochester, MA, assuming no conflict with chosen dates. Looks like we're about 3-4 hours away. Don't see many rallies close to us.

NYS Sheep and Wool Festival at Rhinebeck 19 and 20 Oct. Can't stay that long to satisfy the knitwit but we're good with that area. Wife was in Cooperstown earlier this week and stopped by the H. of F. There isn't much in NY I don't like so we're in.

I was tentatively looking at Oct 5th weekend, as the next one is a holiday and I believe the cg closes on the 15th of Oct. But either weekend is fine with me. Let's wait on Sue's report.
