Ron,

I appreciate your efforts to convince us that we could get there faster and cheaper, but our philosophy is somewhat different.

Sandy drives a 2003 Toyota, bought new, which only has about 40,000 miles on it. I drive a 2007 Dodge Dakota, also bought new, with only 20,000 miles on it. Having worked for most of my career in the environmental field, we both try to conserve energy and money daily.

But when it comes to our camping, each trip is a mini-vacation. I don't go for the shortest road, but the most enjoyable (or at least the least unpleasant). Low-stress is very high on our priorities. If low-stress camping costs a little more time and/or money, our consciences are clear.

I appreciate your concern for us, but we prefer the "road less traveled" when it comes to vacations.

Mike

My main point is that Apiary road is very pleasant. It's pretty, not twisty, and lightly travelled. I'll leave it at that.

Just back from NOG and boy, what a great bunch of people at our first meet and first time out. We even won a wonderful wooden bowl from Mike Price. We had two nice days of sunny weather. I hate to say it, but I did want rain for the last day to drive back in. It was a good way to check the window and door seals. Thanks for fantastic time. Now I'm really looking foreword to the Bandon get together.

I'm home! Actually got home yesterday but too tired from all the fun to even log on to the net. Those that left Sunday, sorry about the rain. By afternoon it was very nice weather. Sat and visited with Jim and Alice in the afternoon... in the sun! Yesterday morning was pretty dang wet. Watched Mike and Sandy trying to loadup and hookup in the pouring rain. About 30 minutes after they left L.L., the sun came out and I took advantage of that!

Thanks for a wonderful time everyone Hope everyone either got home safely or is currently safely in route.

Until next time

This board no longer allows *.mov files ;-(

I came home from the NOG and immediately started preparing a 360 degree panorama of the East Loop. I had picked a camera location that allowed me to get at least a part of every egg. I used my HD Canon camcorder in still photo mode.

I had to spend hours lowering the resolution of 12 photos, creating the panorama, determining that the file was still too big, lowering resolution again, creating a new panorama, still file was too large, over and over again, until I got it down to less than 400KB. The original panorama file was about 12 MB, so you can understand how much time I spent.

Got on the site and started to upload, only to discover this site no longer allows *.mov files! What a disappointment!

Last year I was able to upload one, so I never thought to check the format before doing all that work.

Any reason for the change, or was it just an oversite?

Mike

Great PICS, Norma!
Thanks for posting them for us!
It looks like you should've swung by my place, when you went to Cannon Beach...I'm just a 20 minute ride further south. Oh well, maybe next time.
Plus I'll soon get to see you and Norma in Maryhill. I'll be heading up to the Canadian Ft. Langley meet on May 12th. I'm taking a 10 day trip, so I can hit the meet in Maryhill on my return to the coast. I will meander around BC for about 4 days, then swing by Simon and Sharen's in Langley, Whidby Island, and then on to Maryshill. Ya-ba-da-ba! More trailering ahead for the Spring and Summer months!!!!
