August 2-4: Michigan - 2nd annual gathering

Roy and I will again be travelling through Michigan in the first week of August and we know that a number of you are nearby and available.
This is anything but organized.

We will be at Brighton State Recreation Area from Tuesday August 2 until Thursday August 4 (2 nights, mid-week) and have booked site #16 in the Bishop Lake Upper Campground.
There will be a pot-luck dinner on Wednesday.
Last year we got 6 trailers and it was quite a feast.

Brighton has great trails for hiking and also has horse stables for trail rides at very reasonable prices. For those with children there is a huge network of trails specific to mountain biking. Of course, with all the lakes, there's also fishing.

Please post here or PM me or Roy in TO if you are able to join us.

Roy & Carol Ann,
Boy, since I can't use my phone up in Canada like I use to, seems like "ZERO" contact????? I am very surprised!!!!! How are you 2 and your dogs? How's that Trillium 4500 working out for you? Did you sell your Boler finally? We went on 3 camping trips already this summer and last one was at the Wisconsin Dells..a lot of fun! Brighton Rec is'nt a real good choice, we go swimming at Bishop Lake, The campcround brings in undesirable campers and know friends that have had break-ins...won't catch us there! You should have contacted me, and I would have recomended other choice's...safer & nicer

Dave, I did ask some locals. Apparently it is like most "party parks" - party on the weekend and quiet mid-week. We will be there Tuesday to Thursday.
There were various other choices but Brighton had the most open sites together and the most convenient central location to the greatest number of members. And it's on our route.
You didn't mention... will you be dropping by since we are in your backyard? If not to camp then maybe to swim?

You might have US (two from the Northern Oregon coast)

...we are flying in to Detroit to visit family in Ypsilanti on the 2nd thru the 8th. We might take a 1/2 day trip to say "hi' to our 'Eastern EGGIE Cousins'! We just had a huge 4-day Meet in Bandon, Oregon with 100 Trailers in attendance...EVEN had a 'Bonnair Oxygen' show up. It was phenominal, as I'd never seen such a cool streamlined, Happy-Little (19.5 ft) Thing ever before!
Shame I can't airlift my Compact II, book a site at your meet and drive back home!

Autumn and I have reserved site 14 for the 2nd and 3rd and will be bringing the terrors (terriers). Looks like a two family potluck so far. Will hold off on preparing devil eggs until we know how many are coming. We will be traveling from Ypsilanti Township all of about 40 minutes. It be nice to see other Ypsi folks visit during the encampment.
