Us poor working schleps don't have the time off. We are leaving on the 19th.

But thanks anyway.

Would anyone be interested in doing a "Caravan" up the 101?

Meet in a Wally World lot at "X" time on Friday in [b]So. Cal?
I would need a head start, but we're game.
Just gotta narrow down those parameters a wee bit.
I think it took us 7 1/2 hours to make it to Cambria from San Diego last year.
But that time we waited 'till 2 AM on Saturday to leave; and the [b]5 was deserted!
This year I'm taking Friday off.
I need to do the 405 this time, right?

That would be cool! I'm not sure what the plan is at this point. We either have to leave here before traffic (before 6am) or after traffic (8:30-9).

You know me...

I vote for later.. that'll Give the San Diego faction time to get up. They will be going against traffic up from there. Shouldn't be too bad.

Whats near your house Lizbeth? Theres that Lowes, the park behind it.. and a few malls a few miles up the 405 from you. (I am at a complete loss for anything West of my parking space at work)

We are coming, a check will be in the mail tomorrow. Work has a way of interfering with my vacation plans.

Just someplace reasonable centrally located that folks could meet at at a certain time in the am.

You are just north of the 405 between the 710 and 605 right? That could be easy access for lots of folks.

That park behind Lowes would be a good place to stage and start a convoy, then maybe pick up the Northern LA faction somewhere outside Hollywierd or Burbank?

I am clueless about that area.. maybe they won't mind us gathering at Forest Lawn?

Is there a large parking lot in 1k Oaks? A freeway convinient Wally World?

Right over by the Lowes (605 freeway and Carson) there is a Wally World with a nice parking lot right off the street in front of their gas station. That's very close to my house, easy freeway access.

Who else would we have to meet further north? I don't know much about further north, I don't head that way unless I have to.

I am not sure.. we have some generic descriptions for locations. "LA" "So. Cal" "Canyon Country" (Which actually IS a real place) and others.

They'll have to chime in!

Chris and Cleet.. aren't you down by the first area we are talking about? My fridge runs on electric when running.. you can store that tri tip in mine.

If Robert and I "shift colors" and get underway at 0700 hours...
(Landlubber Translation: If we are all hitched up and actually hit the road at 7:00 AM )... we should arrive at that location by 0900 hours (9:00 AM).
Does this work for you?

We now have 18 confirmed trailers joining us at the Cambria Rally. There is still room for more. Is there anyone else out there planning to come?

Gina: If the time works out, we would like to join the convoy. Ron has Toastmasters at 7 am on Friday mornings, however. We are also looking into going up Thursday, but probably won't know until the last minute.

thanks for the invite. I haven't been very active lately, so just saw the rally listed. We have plans for that weekend, unfortunately. Shoot. We'll plan for the Lake Casitas one tho!

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to point out some scheduling details...

The Camp we are using is used during the week by groups. We have Special permission to use this wonderful property through my wife’s contacts. This is NOT a regular standard RV camp.

We will need to arrive after the group that is in there leaves on Friday. I believe that is around 1 or 2 PM. We can stay (if you paid the additional fee) until Monday, but need to leave before the next group arrives. I’m not sure of the time, but I think it was 9 AM Monday morning.

Also, just for all of you that are coming for the first time to this Rally, there is NO hook ups. There is water available on the property, but not where we are camping and there is NO electricity or sewer. Bring your quiet generator.

I think everyone last year did very well.

I will have my wife confirm these times and details.

--
Thank You, Michael
