Jan's question

Howdy Charles,

I think Jan is asking about the graphics in the picture. What year did they change the graphics design? I know you traded your Casita in for a new one just to get the latest design, but don't remember the year.

No, not yearly

The graphics on the side of the Casita have been updated a couple of times, but, like Carol, I don't know the exact years the changes occured. I know the '89 graphic is/was different than the one on Kim's (a 1998 model)... and the newer Casitas have the loopy swirl.

So, you can get an idea of the age by the graphics, but can't tell the exact year.

Right Mary

Right Mary ...

In the late 80s to the late 90s, Casita (like the entire RV industry) experimented with several straight multi-line graphics ... using a different number, location and width of graphic straight pin-stripes.

Some of the changes were made mid-year, which pretty much makes it impossible to tell exact year ... just eras

The swirling graphics appeared mid-model-year 1999 (if my memory serves me right), to update the look of the trailer, as did most of the RV industry.

So I guess you could get a ballpark age from that change, since it's the most obvious change.

And yes, long time friend Carol C is right. I once bought a new Casita just because my wife thought the graphics were prettier. (So I'm not sure I view the graphics as a good thing :) )

Mid-model year?

Mid-model year?

When does Casita's model year begin? (I'm guessing the answer is, “That depends...”)

Our 1999 was built in late March/early April 1999.

Model year

Mary, when we picked up our "Ova the Rainbow" in late August '99, I met a fellow who was picking up what he said was the first 2000. He was quite pleased with himself. :reyes I should have found out what the differences were but didn't.

when

>>when

that depends! :pump

Casita usually starts the new model year in August, sometimes September ... but the start of the new year is also tied to frame production schedules.

Frame dates

Well, Casita is careful to always put a current year body on a current year frame.

Class A's and Class C motorhome manufacturers aren't so careful ... as a result, a new owner finds they have a 2003 Model built on a 2002 Chassis ... which often happens when manufacturers change model years with left over frames.

Not really a problem, just confusing to the new owner and the local DMV.
