We've done Dillon in the Spring and/or Fall for the last 6 years. Our last gathering was May of 2009. I didn't have one in 2010.

Plan!!! You surely don't know me.

It's not that I have a week to plan for it. I saw this posted somewhere in early January but that still didn't help my calendar.

My January was filled in December if not earlier in 2010. Most times a 2 week notice isn't enough for me. How about 2 months or more which gives time to shift things if possible. I've got stuff already scheduled through October.

I'd like to be a last minute person but there's just too much to do in this life so my calendar starts filling real early.

Nice to be popular...that's tongue in cheek.

Well Joy, maybe if this turns into an annual event you can plan to be there next January. I'm not much of a spur of the moment person either. Life is too busy for me, but I understand that some folks are. It's nice Wider posted this campout tho. It sounds like he is inviting folks, that can, to join in. Less of an egg gathering and more of an informal campout. But we know a lot of the bigger gatherings start out informally.

I'm just jealous folks are out camping this time of year...

And, I agree...but I'm too jealous as I only have 2 weeks until I head off to Joshua Trees and Quartzsite.

I understand the need to plan, but I love spur of the moment zaniness. It got me kickstarted to get that refrigerator installation completed. Now I need to install a water heater bypass valve and secure the water tank I replaced!

this is simply a little weekend camping trip and in this case it's not even very far from home, just a 2 hr drive. my wife and I go scamping about once a month and thought we'd invite some other folks with little egg campers to join us. it's far from a major annual egg-camper rally/gathering

We met Wilder and Aleks yesterday (Friday) at about 8 pm. Today (Saturday) is beautiful. Kathy found an even better spot here near a crab fisherman who has fresh Dungeoness, so we relocated this morning.

We had a breakfast of hotcakes and macaroons. We're off to the beach now.

We're camped just over the dune in the beach shot. Melissa is practicing her "surfing.". Doesn't this last picture look like Scotland or New Zealand? We didn't see any Hobbits, but wouldn't have been surprised!

We had a great time. I had forgotten how awesome Lawson's Landing at Dillon Beach is! And the weather was PERFECT!
