Due to popular and repeated requests from our Hoosier hutchlings. Autumn, Jim, and Steve (of Castle Pretentious fame) are putting together a gathering of the eggs in the Irish Hills of Meechigan. Walter J. Hayes State Park is located in Southeast Michigan near the Michigan International Speedway.

The campground has a boat launch on Round Lake which connects to the much larger Wamplers Lake. Wamplers Lake also features a nice beach, concession stand, and change rooms for those who like to swim. Our get together is scheduled for August 19th, 20th, and 21st. Sites 86 through 96 are targeted for our gathering. Autumn and Jim will be at site 90.

Camping rates are $25/night however there are also Motor Vehicle Permits of $6/day for instate and $8/day for non-residents. Reservations may be made by calling 1-800-44Parks M-F 8-8/Sat & Sun 9-5 or logging on www.michigan.gov.dnr.

This will be a rather informal rally. Tuesday the 19th dogs and buns will be available at the host site. Wednesday there will be a Tour de Eggs from 10 am to 11:30 am. Wednesday afternoon from 1-4 there will be a visit to 2 or 3 local wineries. The third vino outlet is in Dundee near Cabela's about 30 miles from the campground. Wednesday at 6 pm there will be a potluck. Anyone with with musical abilities or inclinations are encouraged to bring instruments for campfires.

Nearby are lots of amusements for those with kids. Hidden Lake Gardens for fans of Botany is just down the road in Tipton. Please email us at bagos@comcast.net once you've made your reservation to let us know your names, site numbers, rigs, and home cities. Hope to see you there!

It looks like John and Fae will have to miss this one. John
started Chemo Therapy today and is scheduled for six sessions
in all. The fifth session is smack-dab in the middle of the get-
to-gether week (August 20th). If for any reason my Chemo schedule
is changed, we might be able to make it. John

Good luck with that John. We'll be sending concentrated good wishes.

Our thoughts and best wishes will be with you. Still waiting to hear from Roy. May have to leave the fishing boat in mothballs for another year.

Roy, myself and our not-so-little puppy Sara will be on site 93 from Tuesday to Thursday. We're adding it to the front end of a long weekend with friends at the north end of the thumb.
And we keep trying to influence other southern Ont MFROGers to make the short trek over to "the other side"
Look forward to meeting a few new fellow fiberglass campers.

Please note that we have scrapped the "hot dogs at host site" on Tuesday in response to Herself's evaluation. Instead we will provide an assortment of koegel hot dogs, sausages, condiments, and buns for the potluck on Wednesday.

We'll look forward to it. There's a 13 foot Scamp Deluxe from Mt. Clemons joining us. We will start getting our fishing boat out of mothballs.

So far as we know there's Roy, Steve, you, and us. That's two Casitas, a Boler, and a Scamp. It would be great if others could join us. We'll even include Tony Packo's Hot Dog Sauce for the potluck. In the spirit of camping we would even welcome Buckeyes to this event with or without passports.

I sure would like to be there but the job keeps me grounded. Self employed.............Bill always said he wouldn't work for my boss and I always say that I would probably fire him on the first day. :-) :-) Hope you have a good time.

We'll miss you and your laughter. We hope to see you in October if our temporary vocational situations allow it. How much would we be out of if we reserved for Brown County and had to cancel?

There is a 10.00 cancellation fee if you couldn't make it. I think you can cancel as late as the day before your scheduled arrival.

Thanks Karen. We might just reserve a site and cross our fingers.

Right now our mini-rally is at 8 people with five rigs. I forgot about David and Katrina Daenzer at Site 91. They have a 13' Scamp Deluxe 2005 towed by a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan and are from Mt. Clemens, MI. Katrina is willing to do a scapbooking workshop for those interested. Let us know so she can bring the right amount of materials.

Our aluminum fishing boat the S. S. Snoopy will be available. We tested it out at Lake Ovid but couldn't open the powerful 4 hp Evinrude because it was a no wake lake. The Old Schoolhouse Tasting room for Cherry Creek Cellars (www.cherrycreekwine.com) is nearby and will be open.
