Getting real close now. After a miserable winter I'm more than ready to go.
I'm making a week of it as usual and shove off Sunday, May 13th, driving back the Monday after the get together. Prolly bring the ATV because there's a public access ATV trail about 10 miles west.
Washed and waxed (lazy man's job...just the parts I could reach from the ground) the Casita today and ran some water through the pipes to flush out any red pop.
Need a run to West Marine tomorrow at lunch to pick some white button snap caps (I broke some using a buffer applying the wax) to cover the outside rivets (marine caps have a UV stabilizer added to the plastic). The hardware store ones lasted barely a year.
Adjusted the brakes yesterday. Decided to pass on the bearing lube as things look good behind the rubber plug. Aired up the tires.
Mail stop with the carrier tomorrow.
Waypoints and geocaches loaded into the GPS.
Nothing left but verify that the rain gear is in the trailer (I've been to a couple of these before...it always rains at least once), load up the food and clothes and Katy Bar the Door!
See you all soon!

If Roy's cookin' fish, we'll bring our appetites. However, we can also bring a dish to pass. We'll bring Huevos del Diablo (deviled eggs) with Clancy's Fancy Hot Sauce on the side. Just repacked the bearings and pulled the rig out of "storage" today. Lookin' forrward to seeing everyone soon.

Time to start organizing a rally open to all fiberglass campers. I have picked Lincoln Trail State Park in Marshall, IL for the weekend of May 18 & 19, leaving Sunday the 20th. We have met the last 2 years at Spring Mill State Park here in Indiana in May and some of us felt it was time to change locations.
Illinois does NOT have an on-line reservation system and Lincoln Trail does NOT take advanced reservations but I have talked to the folks at Lincoln Trail and they assured me that we should not have any problems getting in. The only time it is a problem, is on Holiday weekends.
Once I know how many are planning to attend (sometime around the first week of May), I will call Lincoln Trail and let them know and they will arrange it so that we are together.
Costs are $15 a night and NO park entrance fee!

Hi

Things are quiet here today. Only 2 trailers in sight. Mid 80's Monday and Tuesday.
We're in a nice flat area and the park's nice.
Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

Obligatory "cram as many trailers as possible into the picture" picture. From left to right, a peek at Jim and Autumn's Scamp, Jack and Mo's Scamp, John and Fae's Casita, Tom and Virginia's Casita, Castle Pretentious, and a corner of Roy's Casita.
Karen's Companion and Doris' Scamp.
Roy did a fish fry again.
More happy campers.

Vanity shot of the "Castle" after arrival on Sunday. The side table for the cook stove (latest mod) worked well. A little higher that optimum but I wanted to be able to open the access door with the stove in place.
I was pleased with 14.6 mpg hauling the Casita and the ATV with the Ford with the big V8. 15.7 mpg just bippin' around with only the ATV in the back.

Brown County in Indiana sometime in October. Possibly Michigan after Labor Day in southern Michigan.
