Lori and I are going to Refugio Beach State Park. This is the best kept secret of California. You’ll find No tourist, the weather is great, the sunsets are awesome, and the bike trails are empty.

I’ll try and remember to take photos. I usually am having so much fun I don’t stop to shoot the camera.

We're probably going to head to Moraine View State Park towards the end of the month ... in central Illinois ... so named because of the ridges left behind by glacial movement.

We just like it because it's close and is usually all ours during the winter.

Now if we only had some snow! It was almost 50 F (10 C) here a couple of days ago. Bummer. Colder with tempuratures near 10 F (-12 C) this weekend. Snow middle of the week, so with any luck ....

Check out Michael feeding the seagulls last summer at Refugio. I love it there! We haven't been out in the Casita since Lake Casitas.

All my travel in January will be in Florida. On the 14th, Doodle and I will head for Bradenton. We'll be staying at an Encore park in the middle of winter, so should be able to get a really good contrast picture between my little one and all the behemoths. :)

I have to work Wednesday and Thursday in Bradenton, then I'm on vacation until the 26th. Friday I plan to do some genealogy research at Bradenton's library, and go to the courthouse in Arcadia for research also.

My weekend plans are still up in the air. I've not heard from the lady that is supposed to be setting up some training I want to attend. If she sets it up for the 18th, I'll drive over to Melbourne for the weekend. Otherwise, on Saturday I'll hitch up and move over to Highland Hammocks SP in Sebring in preparation for the ScampCamp.

Either way, I'll be at Highlands Hammock by the 21st and will stay there until Saturday, Jan 25th. Saturday morning I'll pull out early to be in downtown Orlando at the library by 1pm for another meeting. After that I'll head for home, which thankfully is only about an hour's drive.

Lots of camping for me in January! This is the potential trip. :dance
