getting ready

The Shooks will be there on Thurs. We are readying the egg and loading our gear. Hope to have a new tug but time is running out, The Rav needs a new transmission with only 12000 miles and after repairs has been traded for an Explorer. Took a small hit but overkill is better than under. This second Rav was junk compared to the old one. Looking forward to seeing everyone and getting back to Ontario. Cool the beer and drive safe. Is there going to be a potluck for dessert on Sat.?

We will be in the general area, in a Trillium Jubilee with a blue stripe around the middle and a shiny new canopy! First one to find us gets the old canopy (bag awning). I note that the cam-locks that adjust the poles have long since gone the way of all flesh, and have been cleverly (if I say so myself) been replaced by hose clamps.

If this year is like last year, any shade at all is welcome.

For those who are canopy-shopping, I note that the nice shiny Dometic bag awning you will now see on out trailer retails for about $200 at an RV dealer near you.

We'll be looking at your new awning Pat along with many others at the meet.

All my research says the Carefree Campout is the way to go. But they stopped making the size that best fits my trailer.

Alas, the canopy is not in the storage where I expected it to be, so it is unlikely it will make it to Bolerama this year. Next year!

(This is what happens when you live in an apartment and have stuff in storage here and there....)

Did anybody say "pipes"??? Should I re-consider my reservation??? Who brings just pipes to a gathering???? Sounds like a very incomplete stove?! Why not bring the whole stove including stove pipes and a kitchen sink??? Speaking of incomplete things; any takers for a grey butyl tape?

OK I admit, just pushing the topic to the top - it's less than 24hrs to our departure / arrival at our very first fiberglass gathering and we are itchy and hope not to be to scratchy
