BASS campground is full..

We're usually pretty solid on our reservations for the rally. Very few cancel in our group.. However, there are several (about 30) more campsites that are reserved by others not involved with us - hopefully they will be the ones to cancel.

If anyone else want to join our rally, please reserve in Egret campground... at least you will have company. If you reserve in Egret - please let me know by email, and you might be able to move to BASS if there is a cancellation..

Please -- If anyone does find they are not able to keep the reservation, please let me know before you cancel.

Thanks, Carol

FYI
Meteor Shower ends October 25th. Those of you at Lake Casitas may have a chance on seeing it.
Dave

From http://skytour.homestead.com/met2007.html

ORIONIDS (maximum October 21 [broad and irregular])

Moon: Waxing Gibbous (minor interference)

Best viewing windows: Saturday, Sunday and/or Monday mornings, October 20-22. 2am - 6am local daylight time are the best hours as the radiant is highest then. Other mornings in the period of October 17-25 may also be productive. The Moon sets earlier during the first part of the shower period, allowing more dark-sky time.

Recommended for: Anyone interested in meteors.

The Orionids are capable of producing interesting activity from October 17-25. Maximum rates seen from a dark site may reach 20-25 per hour, but sometimes there are lulls even around the traditional maximum of October 21. 2006 gave us a huge surprise with rates more than double those expected for several mornings around the peak. What, if anything, this means for 2007 is unclear. Any given morning session may be more or less interesting than expected. In any case, clear mornings during the activity period are always good times to look for meteors from dark sites.

The Orionids are fast meteors, perhaps a bit faint on average but capable of producing fireballs. The 2006 outburst featured brighter-than-normal Orionids. Note that the radiant is north of Betelgeuse and not right in the middle of Orion. A minor shower called the Epsilon Geminids has a nearby radiant that can cause confusion, but usually produces only 1-2 meteors per hour. Early activity from the Taurids can produce a few nice, slow meteors from radiants farther west. Finally, 5-15 sporadic meteors are usually visible each hour from dark sites.

Please remove my son Andrew from the reservation--but don't remove ME! Can you believe it? My 16-year-old found something more exciting to do for that weekend! Unfortunately, it's going to cost me money!

Hi Lisa

Boys will be boys.... At sixteen, they usually do find something better to do than to be with parents. I removed him, but if things change, let me know .. a tap on my keyboard and he will be back in.

You definitely are not removed. See you soon.

When do you plan to leave, Lisa? We might caravan down there if you can leave early enough.

Bobbie, I'm almost thinking of booking a necessary doctor app't early that AM so I can take a sick day and leave by late morning. Or not, who knows. What are your plans?

I'll probably leave Friday morning, fairly early. I might have an appointment 8:30-9:30, though.

Chris and I won't be able to make the rally. We have 4 nights,Oct 25,26,27 and 28th in B51 which is just across from the bathrooms. Before I cancel does anyone just want to buy these from me($127.50). Please email me at Cardsmith@aol.com if you are interested. Sorry we can't attend but just got a great deal on a 16 day East coast "fall colors" cruise from Quebec to Florida and we can't pass it up.

Thanks Ken,1979 Fiber Stream

Ho Chris and Ken

We will miss you at this years rally but we know you'll have a great time on the cruise.

As for your reservation, please do not cancel it yet. I have two trailers that are in EGRET campground and they want to move into BASS. One is Jim H. I will send you an email.

Thanks for not cancelling yet.

Hi All, Ken again,

How do you want me to do this? Should I sent my reservation conformation paperwork to the person that wants it and they will just enter the spot with my paperwork or should I cancel at a certain time and the person who wants it try to time it so they get the spot. I will do it any way that is best for you just let me know. Ken

Hi Carol, I called the # in the email and was told Jim H. was out of town for several weeks? I explained the reason I called but didn't get any help as to getting in contact with him. Bob emailed me he would like it. Advise please, Ken
