Cliff, great pictures! Joe, did you have your pop top redone? It looks great with the windows. And I like the Compact that has all the open interior space and the twin cots. If I ever gut mine I'd do something like that, just have maybe one secure cabinet to keep food away from hungry corgis.

Cliff, thank you for the great pictures, including the many detail shots.

Now I can look at the photos of Joe's Compact II while I am deciding where to put the refrigerator vents.

Bobbie, the Compact Jr with the open floorplan is owned by Hillary and Michael, a wonderful couple, and is the one featured on http://thistinyhouse.com/2009/a-brief-hist...y-tiny-trailer/

I was fortunate that they and Joe Domingos were just a few spots away from me and I got to pester all three with zillions of questions.

Funny how that worked out that all three Compacts were so close together. I guess it was meant to be. Here is a picture of another Compact Jr. that a friend owns. You can see interior shots, in Douglas Keisters Teardrop book recently published.

Ok, so now I am feeling a bit guilty not taking more Casitas trailer photos. So... Here is a link to my Lake Casitas 2008 rally photos for plenty of Casitas.

Thank you Frederick for weighing our "open floorplan" Compact Jr. I notice you put a #1 next to ours, indicating we came in... ehm... first place. Looks like we don't have any challengers either, but would be interested in finding out if that is the case.

It was quite convenient that Dana & Sue's Compact Jr and Joe's Compact II were just a couple of spaces away. It was great to get to know you all and the ins and outs of your tiny trailers.

And thanks Cliff for the pictures and the tips. I look forward to seeing the progress on your Compact. (It's such a bummer that your beautiful canned ham got crunched.)

Thanks Anita & John for the local insider info on the area. We had a lovely Sunday.

And of course thanks so much for hosting us Carol and Jim... and everyone else who played a part in organizing the weekend. Our first rally! Our first trailer!

If you didn't attend this event here what you missed: Dutch oven class, wine tasting, halloween pet parade, trailer weighing, solar discussion, ice cream social, campfires and everything else I am forgeting. Thank you to all the people who donated their time to make this a great event.

The picture was taken Saturday morning on the Lake.

In posting the weights for this rally, I decided to rank the Fiberglass trailers from the lightest to heaviest, and added in the Aluminum trailers at the end of the list. I have reviewed all 3 of the official weigh-ins that I have conducted... and yours is the absolute lightest trailer I have personally weighed.

Thanks to everyone that attended the rally, we had 41 trailers... We had beautiful weather and we really enjoyed seeing all our friends again and, of course, all the newbies that attended. We hope everyone enjoyed the rally and will return again next year, which will be the 9th rally for us at Lake Casitas.

We want to thank everyone that helped so much to put on the activities.

The rally wouldn't have been the same if Alexandra and Mataniu hadn't volunteered their space for campfires each night. The Friday night hot dog roast over the campfire was attended by almost everyone.. so they had about 75 at their site. Thanks Alexandria and Mataniu.

Fred weighed trailers... to do that he brought his equipment, and spent much of his time helping others to know the weight of their trailers, and feel safer on the roads.
Thanks Fred

Thanks to the those that helped with the ice cream social. Dishing the ice cream, and cleaning up... too many to mention and not forget someone.. so Thanks everyone for helping to make it a success...

Thanks Gil and others who helped Jim to move the tables to the grassy area, and back again to the campsites. The tables were heavy and had to be moved quite a distance... something we really needed for the many activities during the weekend.

Lori, again, didn't let us down .. Dutch Oven cooking was attended by at least 8 that brought their dutch ovens and participated .. and Lori had many that just watched and learned.. Next year, we will have the Dutch Oven lesson at 11:00 and it will be for lunch. Don't forget your dutch ovens ... Thanks Lori and Mike .....

Thanks to everyone who took time to find costumes for their pets.. and themselves, for the Pet Parade. It was fun walking around .. the pets were so cute, and the adults costumes were great. We even had a Pirate pulling her aquarium filled with water and "fish" ... that was heavy. Thanks everyone.

And Bonnie and Rosemary did it again. Wow! the biggest turnout yet for the wine tasting. I believe there were 12 Red and 12 white (approx) ... we will be changing this a little next year, so as not to have so many to taste. Bring a red - taste a red / bring a white - taste a white. OR maybe, bring a red or white and choose which you want to taste. We're thinking. ...Thanks Bonnie and Rosemary.

And thanks to Jim Johnston, he was my right hand man again this year. Name tags, map with lists of attendees, and the roster.. Jim keeps right up with the additions and cancellations, and brings the cute name tags to the rally. No one realizes how time consuming this is and a huge savings for me. Thanks Jim

We even had a center piece, a scarecrow pumpkin... Thank you Rosemary.

(I've been asked who made the delicious crab, cream cheese, cocktail sauce and horseradish appetizer. We would love to have the recipe, if you care to share?)

Here is the photo link to a few photos I took during the events, just in case it got lost in the shuffle.

Photos of 2009 Lake Casitas, click here.

Most of the photos are of the Compact trailers. I took a whole bunch of Casitas trailer photos the prior year. You can find the 2008 album there also.
