Question Does anybody want to get weighed?

I will be able to bring my scales again this year if anybody is interested...

  1. You hitch up to your tow vehicle, releasing stabilizers and chocks
  2. I place the scales just in front of your trailer's wheels
  3. you drive onto the scales (about 1 foot forward)
  4. I record the wheel (axle) weights
    Attachment 22306

  5. You back off to your original position, Chock your tires, and Un-Hitch
  6. you level up, but DO NOT set up stabilizers
  7. I place a scale under the tongue coupler
  8. You raise the tongue jack so the coupler is on my scale
  9. I record the tongue weight
    Attachment 22307

  10. you lower the tongue jack, and reset stabilizers
  11. I remove my scales
For those of you with 5th Wheel trailers, I will do step #7 in the bed of your pick-up truck, just behind your hitch.

The Oregon Gathering weigh-ins required a lot of logistical preparation due to the size of the gathering and the amount of activities. Limited to doing it all in one day, with 25 trailers in line, made sense. Trying to do it all in one day though is actually a lot of work. Maybe we can spread it out a little?

This gathering is smaller and simpler. Last year we weighed only 4 or 5 trailers at this gathering. On-site weigh-ins take less time (about 20 minutes) and co-ordination than lining everybody up. I'd prefer a less rigid format and hopefully not everybody will want me at the same time...

Robert and I will arrive on Thursday and leave on Monday.

Approach me when you are ready to get weighed. Give me your site number and make sure I write it down, I forget easily. If I cannot weigh you right then, we'll work something out, otherwise I can do it almost any time.

Hopefully we will have some nods done to the 5th and would like to have it weighed again. We are going to go to a twin bed set up in the over head, Eric is tired of me waking him up so he can move his feet so I can scoot out and down the stairs.

Lake Casitas rally .. Oct 28 to Nov 1.
(A few will be there on Oct 27 and some will check out on Nov 2).

We have 44 trailers signed up ...
Campgrounds: BASS 40 Trailers and EGRET 4 Trailers. we're looking forward to seeing you all there.

Please bring wood, if you can... Campfire will be at Site 44... It takes a lot of wood for 3 or 4 nights of campfire.

Friday night we will be meeting around the campfire for dinner. No need to stop for dinner Friday on the way to the rally. Bring your Weiners and rolls and your plates, drinks etc. and anything you will share. Salad, chips, pickles, dessert, etc.

Once again Fred has volunteered to weigh our trailers. Please see Fred at Site B8 while you are in camp.... Trailers will be weighed at your site.

Joe will be leading a Round Table discussion Saturday .. Bring your lunch and a drink.. This is a great opportunity for Questions and Answers.. Last year this session was a hit. Subject will be decided later.

Would you be willing to lead a walk around the campgrounds .. down to the lake - up to EGRET campground? This could be on Friday or Sunday, anytime you choose.

Saturday morning ... Open Trailers.. Come and see all the mods that you might be thinking of.

We will need volunteers, Saturday, to get tables from campsites and return them on Sunday before everyone leaves

Ice Cream Social will be on Saturday.. We will need ice cream, toppings, cutup fruit in bowls like strawberries, bananas, pineapple, etc. Cookies, cupcakes are always welcome. Root beer or orange soda for ice cream sodas might be an idea. We will need tablecloths taped to the tables... Jim and I will bring bowls, napkins, spoons, and cups...

Please let me know what you will bring to the ice cream social .. Email, private message or post... We especially need to know that there will be ice cream. Volunteers will be needed to scoop ice cream, etc.

Halloween pet parade will be in the afternoon. Dress your pet, and yourself (if you want).. we will parade through the campground.

Wine Tasting... Bonnie and RoseMarie will be in charge .. Bonnie will be in space 44... Bring all bottles of wine to Bonnie by Noon on Saturday. Wine Tasting will be in the afternoon and only for those bringing wine. (one bottle per trailer).

For Sale/For Free/For Trade... tables will be set up ... Bring your items but please stay with them and sell/trade/or give them away yourself.

All times will be posted and emailed nearer to the rally date.

See you there.

Games

Hi Carol,

Iam going to load some games and jig saw puzzles if anyone will be interested in them. Iam going to bake some goodies to have with the ice cream and have picked up some tableclothes. Iam also going to give a few recipes a try in my cast irons so if anyone one wants to come by they will be welcome. We are in B-4.

Hi Rosemary

You are the busy one. The games sound good - always great to have game tables set up. Cookies, yum.. With your tablecloths, we now have enough....

We just need to get at least 8 tables on Friday or Saturday morning, from spaces that won't need them, and move them to space 44.

Important - we need to return the tables back to the spaces before everyone leaves on Sunday.

Any volunteers for table moving ????

Thanks, Carol

Please bring wood, if you can, to the rally. The nights will be cool and the warm campfire will feel great.

See you in 5 days...

Thanks

Possibility of rain on Friday, bring rain gear and travel safely!

We don't mind rain when camping, good coffee and cocoa weather!

Just checked Ojai weather. as of today.. but it's been changing for the better. 20% rain means 80% no rain..

10% chance for Thursday .. partly cloudy
20% chance for Friday ... mostly sunny
20% chance for Saturday .. partly cloudy
20% for Sunday .... partly cloudy

Agree Liz, we don't mind rain either...

Just back from our first Lake Casitas rally. WOW. What a great time, people were awesome and we're already making plans to go next year. (Anybody know if the lady in the Class A Sunday morning ever found her dog?)
