Lake Ray Roberts (North Texas) State Park

A couple of weeks ago, we were up at Lake Ray Roberts State Park (Johnson Branch), and we noticed a late model Casita parked in one of the Campground Host sites. Another (not quite as recently minted) Casita was parked across the street. Alas, I didn't get a chance to meet either of the owners.

But it jogs at my memory, every time I notice somebody new registering from the Dallas/Ft. Worth (Texas) area. Do any of you ever get over to Lake Ray Roberts?

:sunny

For what it's worth, we really liked the campground we were in. (Wish the signs on the highway were a little more informative, since the State Park consists of 2 units, one on each side of the lake!) We had never been there before, but were impressed with the facilities and the lake itself.

I understand it stays pretty crowded, year 'round...

Any thoughts? Anybody reading this working as a Campground Host? :cblob

Yep, I'll bet you're right...

Nothing much to do there, though, unless you like to fish, hike, birdwatch, cook out, etc. :chin

camp out

Well that might need some work. :wink don't like to fish, but I like to eat fresh fish, need to hike, but wouldn't last long. I might like the etc. part. I was just going through the camping threads hunting a not too far place to meet some of the group. Oh well maybe someone can come up with somewhere. It's early yet, I don't winter camp to well, so don't try. :jump-r
