Good reminder Doug! I only remember yesterday to book.
Just a thought but you may want to concider sending out a direct email reminder to folks like me who got the notice before the reservations were open and made note to self to do later when reservations where open - only to totally forget about it a week later. ;-)

LOL: Barbara, your trip north in May just HAS to be 'gooder' than our weather was 10 days ago on our long weekend in Oregonish. But then we weren't 'looking' for hot n sunny. (just maybe some funky fabric, LOL!!!)

Bumping this back up....
Our May meet is now about a month away and sites in the 'preferred' local (Salamander) are almost all gone .
Time now to roll the Egg outta the 'crate', wash it down, change off the winter (storage) wheels, get the trailer re-insured and re-stocked!!
Lots to get done in less than a month...
Hoping for much warmer/drier weather too !!

Do we GET an ACTUAL Site # assigned to us?
Doug,
When I called the Fort and made my reservation, she didn't give me a site number in Salamander. The only thing she said was that she would try to put me as close to the Magers, as she could. Hmmmm. Why does it sound as if everyone got their site number but I'm not to get mine until the actual day I arrive there. Hmmmm.
Can you enlighten me, or maybe even check where they put me and let me in on the SECRET?
Always a BIG THANK-YOU,
BB

BB I'm not Doug but I can tell you that you are not the only one that does not get the site they ask for :-( I booked on the first day allowed last year but I did not get the site I wanted - they actually tried to put me into a totally different loop as well. Its the number one big issue people have with the Fort - they do not allow anyone to pick the site, even if it is clearly open at the time you reserve - the only camp ground I have ever stayed at that does that. The only way it seems that you can get the site you want is to arrive early - which doesnt work for many of us. To get around this the previous orginizers of this meet use to book off the whole loop and pay for it directly ahead of time and then give those attending the site they asked for - it was a lot of work and it required someone to put up cash in advance for everyone else.
The Fort sent out a link asking people to do a survey regarding their services and I took it and indicated that my biggest beef with staying at the Fort is not being able to reserve a site. Check their website the link may still be there and register your beef.

Assignment of Site NUMBERS at Ft. Langley
Thanks, Carol. Your reply certainly gave me more info on why I thought I was being treated differently than some of the REAL CANADIANS, who are booking and getting actual site numbers assigned to them.
I just wrote an email to Shannon, who handled my reservation for the Fort, and asked her to provide me an assigned site number, just as others have been provided with them, upon their own booking & payment.
I'll see what her response is...
I guess I better get my Oregon *** up there as as quickly as I can, inorder to get a good site. I'll probably camp on the freeway that Thursday night and get an EARLY start on Friday morning.
PS ARE you the wonderful potluck organizer...I couldn't remember the last name...

HeHe - nope the Candians do not get any different treatment from the American's or anyone else for that matter.
Barbara, sorry if I gave you the impression that some people are getting an assigned site number upon booking & paying (that only happened in the past when the meet orginizer paid for the whole camping loop in advance - which is no longer happening). From what I understand no one gets assigned number - they only find out when they actually arrive what the site number will actually be. The Fort does try and give you the site you asked originally for but they reserve the right not to and I dont know of anyone who knows their real site number until they arrive.
As you note the trick to getting what you want is to arrive early. One of the quick and pretty cheap stop over spots I have used more than once when heading to your great little town is the Northern Lights Casino - its a couple of miles off the I5 on the road to Anacortes - I think its on HWY 20 - the turn off is by Burlington. They have a pretty nice little RV park with full service and great views or you can just park in their back parking lot - where you will have lots of company. Food and facilities in the Casino or a better dinner can be had at Anacortes.

Barb/Barbara,
I will be making the trek up to Canuckland again soon and will be staying overnight in the SAFE, FREE, parking lot at the indian-owned casino in Everett which is next to the freeway. Just drive around behind the casino and check in with the security people. They'll give you a slip to put on your windshield. No hook-ups but FREE. Do NOT park in the Everett Wal-Mart parking lot. Many drug deals and tweekers roam throughout the night there. See you soon!!

Thanks Ron for the new place to add to the safe pull over for a short stay. I will keep it in mind for the next trip south. I suspect that your next trip up is at the same time and reason Barbara is coming:-)
Yup Barbara I am indeed the pot luck person.

Ron, Will you be going up Thursday afternoon 5/12...
...and staying overnight in the SAFE, FREE, parking lot at the indian-owned casino in Everett which is next to the freeway. Just drive around behind the casino and check in with the security people. They'll give you a slip to put on your windshield. No hook-ups but FREE.
Do I just get off at the Everett exit? Will it have a sign for the Casino, or did I just pass it before taking that Freeway exit?
I'm Directionally Challenged, so the more help the BETTER!
I'm going to take an extra 4 days, after the meet, and just tool around BC.

BB,
Traveling north from Seattle, - Take Exit #200 off I-5
- Turn LEFT onto 88th St NE
- Turn RIGHT onto Quil Ceda Boulevard
- You'll see signs for the Tulalip Casino way before the exit
The casino is on the left as you're traveling north.
Perhaps a GPS is in order (for Christmas present maybe )
See you guys on the evening of the 12th in the casino parking lot?
Just go into the casino for a great breakfast Friday morning!!
Ron

Hi Carol,
Your directions will be: - Take Exit #200
- Turn RIGHT onto 88th St NE
- Turn RIGHT onto Quil Ceda Boulevard
- Casino is on the right and there will be signs way before the exit.
Yup, I'll see everyone at the Fort campground on the 13th. No assigned site which was NOT good. I did, however, ask to be next to/near Doug and the "Trailer Goddess" and/or Bunny and Charlotte.

hehe Ron thanks but you could have saved some typing and just said it was the one beside the Seattle Prem Outlet mall - I do know where that is ;-))
See you in a couple of weeks - I also have no idea where I will end up in the campground.

I'm working on this pancake breakfast, however I have no idea what the numbers are. Can someone provide me with how many trailers are signed up?

....Last contact with 'reservations', Salamander was maxed out.
Current 'privacy' legislation seems to make it impossible to get any sort of info on who's where, etc. but that section (Salamander) handles about 38 Eggs. No indication on how many areas (other than Salamander) may have attendees in them.

Might want to consider doing as its done at US State park meets where people make their reservation and then advise the meet co-ordinator so they have some idea as to who is coming as we use to have. :-(
