Hi,

Thanks for your initiative. At our age you never know this far in advance, but, put us down as a definite maybe.

Thanks guys, appreciate it and hope we can all be there next May. I am hoping this thing will develop a life of it's own however, so should I travel off to the other side a little early, it will still be a go. Two other couples are involved. I don't know that the campground have a deadline for reservations, so I suspect you won't have to know very far in advance, just call them a day or two before the event. I hope to know how many are coming a week in advance just so I can get the stickers ready.
Hope to see you in 2012.
Vivian & Paul

We are most likely in as well. Sounds like a fun weekend. Will there be a potluck one evening?

Instead of a pot luck supper, which we've had trouble with a couple of times at other events, we will instead have a communal supper where everybody will bring their own supper all ready to eat, or bring their little BBQ or use one of ours to cook their whatever, and we will all eat together, much like a potluck, but no line-up and no excluding people on restricted foods etc. That will be on the Saturday around 5:30. We'll put out the call and people can help to pull a bunch of picnic tables together in one of the laneways. If it rains we could all go to the hall but it's a ways away and people may not wish to do that. However, we will go to the hall if it rains, after supper both Friday and Saturday for sing-a-long, cards etc. It's a nice hall.
The communal supper idea came from Quebec Bolerama and it worked out really, really well. We were most impressed.
50/50 draw and door prizes will be done after supper on Saturday night. Hopefully this will entail a whole lot less work for everybody and make it easier to help carry this thing on.

Just an afterthought. EggFest is open to ALL small, lightweight, molded fiberglass trailers - boler, casita, escape, trillium, scamp etc. etc. I assume everybody knows that but just to be sure.

Totally fine with the communal supper. I'm just surprised that there have been problems with potlucks. We've participated in them in other rallys and they have been great. It's nice to sample other people's dishes. We're good with either. Sounds like a fun weekend.

the problems happened at two different ones we were at and at both some people did not get anything to eat because (can you believe it?) there was no food left and at one there were 400 people lined up so it took a huge amount of time for the end people to ever get through. We also have several diabetics, two with severe food allergies and 4 people I know of with Crone's disease so we just decided to go this route. We really enjoyed it at the one we were at. So hope to see you there.

I have a blog going now so you can go to either BizziansPlace.com or to Eggfestbybizzian.blogspot.com. I'll post pics and info there too as I get it. You can also let me know there when you have made your reservations.

I'm not going overboard on the blogsite, but I wanted something for those who didn't want to have to pile through everything here.

Well am home from surgery so catching up on all fiberglass news. I hear Quebec bolerama has 105 units and it was a smash success. So sorry to have missed it but fully intend to make that my fall destination next year.
EggFest is garnering interest althoug it is still early and thanks to the Quebec people to passed on our information at their event last week. We appreciate it.
I find the blog site to be somewhat difficult to use so will just leave it with the EggFest information. People can find updates here instead.

Cool

Here is all the information for EggFest 2012 in Kingston.
It's open to all small lightweight MOLDED FIBERGLASS trailers, such as Trillium, Scamp, Boler, Casita, Escape etc. We are having a meet and greet Rally the last weekend of May (25, 26, 27) next spring in Kingston, Ontario at Rideau Acres Campground. Each site has hydro, water and picnic table.

The event is for 3 days but anybody who wishes can book the Thursday and/or the Sunday night if they so wish.

There is an area for a bonfire and sing-a-long which we can have both Friday and Saturday night and if it rains we do have use of the hall for music and cards etc. Saturday, we will have a communal supper instead of potluck. We will pull a bunch of picnic tables together in one area where everybody can bring their own supper but we can all eat together. That way, no line-ups and no excluding anybody with food restrictions. They do that at the Quebec meet and it works extremely well. Some of us with small BBQs took them over so people could cook their burgers etc. if they wished. The hall is also available in case of rain, if we so choose.

Saturday night there will be door prize draws and a 50/50 draw which will cover all other costs - so there will be no registration fee to attend the event once your camp fees are paid. We would like you to come and sign in under our banner however, so we can say hello. There is much to see and do in the Kingston Area and the campground has a full range of activities for all ages.

Looking forward to next spring already. Go to www.rideauacres.com to book your site, and ask for the EggFest area of the Rally Field. Once you are booked please let me know at layneparkin@gmail.com so I have an idea of how many are actually coming. The campground has somebody in the office all year round so you can book anytime through the winter.

We have 3 "eggs" already booked. Hope to see you there.

We are very interested in going but will have to register a little later on in the new year. This will be our first gathering and are looking forward to it.

Eggfest 2012 Kingston

Just contact Rideau Acres when you are ready to book. They have lots of room. Then let me know once you have booked so I know how many stickers to get ready.
Will look forward to seeing you and I am sure you will enjoy yourselves.

If you go to the Rally Calendar tab in the tool bar above, and jump to May 2012 you'll find all the information posted there with link to the campground.
