We will be at the Waterloo NOG in a few weeks and wonder if anyone has suggestions for nice camping spots in southern Washington or northern Oregon that might be suitable for tagging on just before or after the NOG in Waterloo? A location with good fall colour would be a bonus.

Have you been to Cape Disappointment State Park? It's gorgeous, with rugged headlands, sandy beaches, numerous hiking trails and an interesting Visitor Center that focuses on Lewis and Clarks expedition. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Sorry we're going to miss this one but since we're on the other coast, Atlantic, we think that's a good excuse. The weather, alas, is reminding us of a spring nog — foggy and cool but sooner or later, we'll head south. Heading for Moncton, N.B. today and will meet Theresa P. Cats are enjoying the trip! Hi,

While checking the Waterloo County Park site trying to figure out how to transfer a reservation, I noticed a link on the left hand site for a coupon. So........ I checked it out and it is a buy two nights and get one free! What a sweet deal. Valid after September 6,2010.

Thought the rest of you might want to take advantage of it too!

Well, folks Lily and I are near Waterloo.

After treking up Highway 97 and across the Columbia River gorge highway we ended up at the coast at a lovely campground, Beverly Beach SP. This was one of only two SP's along the coast that I'd never stayed at. I just loved it and Lily loved the short walk to the ocean.

Yesterday we left the coast and drove past Waterloo to Sunnyside County park. We'll be there through Saturday. I plan to move down to Waterloo on Sunday. I'm hopeful that I can get my site for Sunday and Monday, that way I won't have to move on Tuesday.

So Lily and I will be there to greet everyone as they arrive we are at the end as you loop back around A loop.

While you're staying there at Sunnyside or as you leave go up the river (East on 20) to River Bend and take a look. We think this is best of the Linn County's campgrounds.

Attention everyone that is coming to this event. I just spoke to the park and if you print off the coupon and bring it with you, you can still get a free night. Here is what you need to do. Print the coupon for the free night. Come a day early or stay a day later. Add the coupon to a payment envelope when you arrive, with a note that a two day reservation has already been made so that the ranger can check and confirm. Simple as that you get a free night.
