We are planning a gathering-rally June 22-23 at Four Paws Kingdom Campground. It is located in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, west of Charlotte. The one last year was so great we decided to make it a yearly event. This event is for all Fiberglass RV's and any other RV's that wish to attend. We welcome anyone that desires making new friendships and viewing other kinds of RV's as well as great camping experiences.

Four Paws is the only dog dedicated campground in the US. It is truly a campground like no other with semi shaded pull through, back in sites, fire rings, wifi sites upon request, altoug I have heard that most site have WiFi and internet station at the office, state of the art bathhouses with private bathrooms and showers,

For dog owners they have a socializing free run park, a small doggy playground, champion size agility ring, doggy bathhouse and grooming station, fully fenced in swimming pond for dogs. Hiking trails for dogs and humans. The owners will also provide pet sitting if you need to go into town as well as obedience classes for a small fee.

Now::: Before you say I am not going because it is all about DOGS!!!! You would be amazed how this park is ran and how you can be camping in a dog friendly campground and not hear barking or other disturbances. It is as if the dogs know they are in a safe place and loved. I would of not believed this if I had not seen it for myself last year.

So come join us at this rally with your dog, without a dog, or with another kind of pet. Last year we had a brave friend attend with their two cats and everything went fine. Many also came just for the camping enjoyment with no pets.

Friday night in the pavilion we will be have a hot dog-hamburger (you bring your own meat) cookout and everyone is asked to bring a side dish to share. We will then have a “get to know you” and do some talking about fiberglass - Casita mods we have made as well as questions on “how to”.

We will have a campfire Friday evening, so please bring some firewood .

Saturday morning you will be welcomed to come to our site for coffee and donuts. Bring your own mug!

Saturday will be free to go around and visit other fiberglass trailers or take on some shopping or sight seeing of the area.

Saturday June 23 the campground will be having a Ice Cream Social at 3:00 pm You are welcomed to join other campground guest at this event.
Don't miss out on some delicious ice-cream variations
$4.00 charge benefiting the Four Paws Kingdom Foundation

Saturday, June 23 the campground will be hosting a Salad Potluck which you all are welcomed to attend. Bring a "House, tossed, Caesar, Tuna, Potato, Chicken, Oriental or never-seen-before..."
If it's salad, you can bring it. Campground owners will provide the bread.

After the salad dinner at the pavilion the campground owners will be having a 70's Trivia Challenge Join us at 7:30 pm at the pavilion for a fun evening with quiz and oldie music.

We also will be having a campfire at our site so please bring some fire wood for this event.

For reservation click onto the Four Paws Kingdom Campground, http://www.4pawskingdom.com/ and check out the events and what this campground has to offer as well as directions.

There are many interesting things to do in this area and the web site tells you some of them.

They are aware of this event and will do the best they can to keep us all together, but did say early reservations will help assure this to happen.

If you have any questions please e-mail me. Also if you make reservation with the campground please post it so we know who is attending and can get a better head count for this event.

This campground is indeed one never seen before. The people that own it go beyond hospitality in making the stay a great one. Last year when we had the rally, we had a bad storm and in the middle of the night Meik was out checking to make sure each site was Ok as well as picking up fallen limbs at 3:00a.m.. This is something you will not see at other campgrounds.

I have received many e-mail regarding making reservations. Please call Birgit at the campgrounds to make your reservations. 1-828-287-7324. If you have not signed up for the Four Paws Newsletter you can do so on the web page : http://www.4pawskingdom.com/ and you will receive a $5.00 coupon for your first night visit. This coupon is only good for first time newsletter sign up campers.

The camp does give us a 10% discount which will be a total of $32.40 per night of camping.

We have reserved site #5 and Birgit said that she will do her best to keep us all together.

This gathering is for everyone, they also have trailers and cabins to rent if you just want to come and join in on the events .

Looks like we will be having a good turn out for the gathering. We already have 5 who have made resvervations. The campground is going to try and keep us all together. The sooner you make your reservation the more likely you will be with the group. This is a very popular campground with limited sites so it does fill up fast.

This picture was taken last year by Mike and Mary at the small dog social. They also have a special area for large dogs.

We are now up to six. Looks like a good rally is in the planning, and lots of fun, with or without a four legged friend.

Nestled in the serene foothills of the North Carolina mountains, Four Paws Kingdom is only a few miles away from some of the most remarkable and inspiring attractions this part of the US has to offer.

These are some highly recommendable places to see with in 30 minutes of the campground:

Lake Lure - Hidden away among the towering Blue Ridge peaks is a sparkling jewel--Lake Lure, North Carolina. And, it's waiting for you to discover.
Explore its history and beauty in the easy comfort of a guided boat tour, splash in its refreshing waves where they lap against a sandy beach, or set out across its shimmering serenity in a canoe or pontoon boat. During the warmer months, enjoy the Beach @ Lake Lure and our new water activities area, the Beach Water Works.

Chimney Rock Park - Chimney Rock Park is a scenic attraction located 25 miles southeast of Asheville. The parks offers spectacular 75-mile views, numerous hiking trails, a 404-foot waterfall, Nature Center, picnicking and more.

Hickory Nut Gorge - Often called the most beautiful natural canyon in the Eastern United States, Hickory Nut Gorge offers startlingly spectacular scenery. Along the floor of the Gorge flows the Rocky Broad River - credited with having patiently carved the granite of the Blue Ridge Mountains to form the deep cut. On either side, rocky cliffs rise steeply, dwarfing the little villages below.

We spoke to the campground yesterday and they are starting to fill up the sites. This is a small campground so site selection is getting slim.

Check out the Four Pawns Campground and see how great this place is.

We are now up to 10 attending and that number is from e-mails I have received. Not sure how many others have signed up that we don't know about. Looks like we are going to have a great turn out this year with lots of new folks and many returning from last year.

If you have made reservations and have not e-mailed me please do so with your site number and where you are coming from. We have goodie bags for your four legged friends and want to make sure we have enough for everyone.

Friday
Viewing of other Casitas and getting to know each other during the day.
7:00 Pavilion: Potluck dinner: Bring your own meat to grill, hot dog or hamburgers.
We will provide the charcoal grills and have a small Foreman gill on hand if
needed.
Condiments will be provided.
Bring you own table service and drinks.
Bring a dish to share with our group of about 12 couples, 24 people..
This event is only for the Casita Rally camping group.

Paws social gatherings where everyone meets with their dogs in the off-leash areas for the dogs and people to socialize is always at 6 for the small dogs and 6:30 for the big dogs. I know 7 would be kind of late for some people to eat, but the social gatherings are very popular and fun.

After dinner we will have a campfire at site 5, bring wood for the campfire if you have some. We will have discussions on what changes we have made to our Fiberglass RV's, or “how to do” something, Hopefully if you have any problems we can all help in solving them. Looks like we are up to 20 and one week to go before the rally.

Lots of new faces and past ones as well.

The campground has a few spaces left if any more of the EAST COAST RALLY folks wish to attend.

Schedule is listed in the above post.
