Good People of Oregon,

Do not despair of the precipitation you are receiving ! Here in Arizona we are breaking records for no rain, no snow. This winter nary a drop of snow has fallen in the eastern mountains where we live. Normally, there should have been 3 or 4 ft. by now.

There is an old saying in the desert area during summer - - 'but it's a dry heat.' We have to add another one now - - 'but it's a dry cold.' Please fed ex us a few drops !!! Don

OK - so this is my first entry on this site. I'm new at this go give me a break. I own a 13ft Perris Pacer and am having a blast! I already have the rep of being an independant wife - but now it's official. I take my new toy all over the Central Coast of California. I eventually plan on joining one of these fiberglass rallies... but I'm pretty busy through mid summer. If there are any events taking place in California - it's an easier reach for me. Just let me know! - Paige

Well, it is happening during your "busy time" and it's a few hours north of CA but we would love to have you at the Oregon Gathering (July 14-16). There are 100 sites registered already. Here's more info:

2006 (4th Annual) Oregon Gathering

Come join us!

Since this was to be the first dry weekend since before Thanksgiving?, I decided to head out Saturday morning with the new-to-me Bigfoot. Hudson-Parcher Park was recovering from a wind storm and a flooded 12 thru 17 site area. Saturday was okay with a little sun. This morning was overcast with light rain (what else, this IS Oregon after all). I decided to bag it and head home. The pooch wasn't used to being crammed in a 17' trailer all night. She'll get used to it, eventually. Anyway, I see that site #30 hasn't been spoken for. It is just a footbridge away from the main circle of sites but it is nice. Other than that, I told the park hostess when we were coming and she said that she remembered us from last Fall and really liked the "egg shell" people.

Ron, the park host and hostess were both so nice to us last fall. They put out a sign that said "Welcome Egg Shells" with a basket of plastic Easter eggs sitting in front of the sign. Then they came to visit with us on Saturday night. Very nice people.

We are new here but the gathering sounds like fun! My husband works Saturday and Sunday but we might drive over for a visit on Friday after I get off work.

Any idea when the fall gathering will be?

Yes, please drop by for a visit..guaranteed fun! You aren't going to find a gathering of eggs much closer to your home

Fall Gathering...subject to change but probably October 19-22 (these are the Friday-Sunday dates). We'll get a majority vote in April for the date in October. (The dates I provided are the same as last fall.)

Hi Donna & All! We would like to come to the Columbia River Retreat. But, (& I'm a little ashamed, to admit this, Renee & I bought a sticky. ) we'd really like to come up to see, all of you, again.

(''Whisper." We'll be in a, '65 Shasta with wings. We named her Shasta Baby. Betcha can't figure out why, that name. LOL) Speaking of which, should I bring Carrie along, again?

The only site I can see, that might be approprate for us, is #32. Does that site have electric? Because there are no closer sites, & I'm still using the wheelchair, we need to be able to cross the bridge that is nearest the gathering spot. (Also, maybe we can Shasta Baby, over there, & no one will notice we're not in an egg anymore.)

What do you think?

Of course you are welcome to join us Elsie I see sites 30 and 32 are both available...32 is a pull through and then there's site 27 which is a straight shot down to the gathering area. I don't know if any of these spots have electricity. It might be best for you to call the Columbia County Parks folks 503-397-2353 and ask them. Be sure to tell them you're with the egg people

It sure will be nice to see you.

Probably like today. Rain followed by Snow followed by Rain followed by blinding Sun followed by Rain followed by .......

Who cares, we'll all be sleeping dry and having fun. To steal Jacquie G.'s comment...it's at the end of the rainbow!
