Mike is coming up expressly to RAMROD Sunday's brunch. Or so he told me at the Bandon gathering. Who is this jrnut guy with the beer comment. Sounds like a bulgemobile owner!!! Weener roast on Friday night. You can't get any more laid back then that. See ya all! Keith
Liar, liar pants on fire, Keith. ...though we did discuss the NOG breakfast in Bandon. I may not fully recall if it was the night of the wine tasting.

Of course I am coming to be with all of you lovely people, not to cook and organize; but I am willing to play my part to help organize breakfast...

Keith, we can talk about what kind of ramrod you prefer later.

I think that the way we did it last time worked better when there were 25 instead of 50 of us. Still, I like the comaraderie of cooking together.

I wonder if it would work out just as well and be simpler if we had different folks in charge of different parts.

For example...a setup coordinator, cleanup coordinator, egg coordinator, sausage coordinator, and tortilla and condiment coordinator. Or we could do pancakes instead. Or we could just do pancakes and eggs.

These people would be completely in charge of their areas and could do it themselves or delegate...bringing the food items, acquiring cooking hardware, tables, etc. Any items that cost money could be turned in and totaled and then we would ask for contributions of x $ per person.

What do you think?

How does this sound? A quasi potluck type where everyone brings a dish to share, instead of trying to bring raw ingredients and cooking at one spot?

I don't eat breakfast, but wouldn't mind being part of the cleanup committee!

Sharon-

Another drink that sounds right up my alley. Yum, yum, yum. Wish I was going to be there to sample this one but we are not going to be able to make it. You practice and I will be glad to sample, maybe in April. Too bad you will have to mix these drinks without your bar. It is finished. I just took pictures of it tonight. After I post this I am going to try and figure out how to PM you so I can get your email address and send pictures of the bar. I think your going to like it. Yes, I know there is a way to post pictures on this site but I have not figured that out yet. Just figured out how to send pics via email recently. Yes, I am a slow learner but I am learning all the same. So keep an out for a PM from me.

Wish we could make it to the gathering but just too much going on this month. I know everyone will have fun.

Someone was at the bar instead of at the posting pics workshop in Bandon

Let's do that--the quasi potluck. Whoever wants to bring a grill can and cook something to share. How about that?

That will still keep some of the ambiance.

Yep and stays within the idea the NOG was not going to be overly organized.

See y'all in LESS than two weeks

Hello Fellow Crampers,

Sharen & Simon here, green behind the ears already in this PNW wet and soggy winter - no, autumn didn't happen this year. Some cynics claim that Winter on Whidbey Island began last July 5th. THUS, WE WANT SUNSHINE, and hope to find some in NOG this weekend. Don't anyone burst our bubbles! IT SHALL BE SUNNY.

While we connected with glass egg folks last month in BC, this is our first endeavor to connect with Casita-neestas folk. We're looking forward to meeting all of you and sharing some good times round the crampfires.

Our 10 y/o Casita - new to us - did great on our last strip, and the Toyota 4Runner we bought as tow vehicle did fine too, so we're set to go again - sheets and towels washed and freshened, canned beans on board... fuzzybutts bathed and fluffed, Champoeg State Park brochure printed out successfully from their Website. Thank you Donna for the links.

We'll be spending Mon, Tues, Wed somewhere else - yet to be determined, maybe the So WA coast - arriving at Champoeg on Thursday, in case any others are early birds too. We'll be in A-1. I tried to get closer but no luck.

So, happy travels to all of you.
Be seeing you soon.

Sharen & Simon

What's required here is an act of devotion to the sun and summer weather. In other words a sunshine dance & ritual.

Here's what need: All of us campers need to pack swim suits, beach towels, and T-Shirts. We also need one rain jacket and one winter jacket. (Don't jinx us by bringing extra rain and winter jackets we don't need for the dance.) That and our usual assortment of camp chairs and other things we ordinarily take with us when we go camping, and we're all set.

Here's what we do:
If we were doing a rain dance ritual we'd dance around in a circle wearing rain jackets singing praises to the clouds sacrifice some sun-withered crops to the rain gods. To invoke the sun you gotta do the same kind of thing, 'cept we all dance around in our bathing suits, sing praises to the sun and to blue sky, and sacrifice a rain and a winter jacket by burning them in the fire pit.

Makes sense to me . . . .

What do you mean, "We dance around in our birthday suits..." ???

... oh, er "bathing suits... "

... nevermind.

Well, we're contemplating going to Cape Disappointment in SW WA for a couple of days before we head into Champeog this coming week. Anybody been to CD? Disappointing?

Cheers,
Sharen
