<span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%">October 13-15, 2006</span>

After much discussion about finding a different place to gather in the fall and with Byron and Anne Kinnaman's help...we've decided to move the gathering to Waterlook Park in Linn County Oregon, this is just east of Lebanon.

I just spoke with Melissa at the park office and all the sites are currently available for the area we want. For better privacy, we've chose sites 30A-54A in Loop A. Click here to download either a GIF or PDF: Waterloo Map. I've chosen site 39A.

You must call 541-967-3917, tell them you're with the "Egg People" to make your reservation...this park is NOT available for online reservations. It costs $11 to MAKE the reservation and that cost is not included in the daily fee. But this campout is after the busy season so the price will drop to $16 a night (electric/water only...a dump station is available).

Byron says he'll post a map for directions to get to the park.

Let's go have some fun! Get those reservations in now!!

As promised here's an overview map of how to get to the park from I-5, exit 228.

OK I've 37A.

By the way if there's somebody in your party that's over 62 the nightly price is only $12.00

As you probably know, I love these gatherings. Unfortunately it is planned for the one weekend in October that I already have paid reservations for something else. Maybe I can stop going or coming to say hi. I'm going to Portland with 25 other women that weekend for the Women of Faith Conference. I'll be thinking of you with envy.

I sent an e-mail out to a bunch of folks that were at the big Oregon Gathering...and told them the date was Oct 13-15, 2005 Obviously didn't have enough coffee at 5:30am.

Here's another map, that shows where along the I-5 corridor you'll find the park.

Christi - You could go around Vancouver and Portland on I-205 - it joins back up with I-5 before you get to the exit for the campground.

Keep an eye on site 40A. In the dark of night, Bill and Jacquie may sneak in and set-up "Tilly the Trillium"

Okay, our first gathering. We called and she said 30 was available so I guess we will be there. 30A in October. Dale says we can at least bring our 10 by 10 for over the table even if it is drizzling. Now be nice, this is our first time.

Anne, are you buying "Factory Direct" in Chilly Wack, near us here in Canada, or elsewhere?

Okay, being new, I get to ask some dumb questions. Is there horseshoes, cribbage, movie swaps, group breakfasts, and what is this about dutch ovens? Are there cooking classes, gps caching trips, photo showing, computer classes? What should we come prepared for, with and ready to do?

If you're into geocaching there's a couple caches close by. If you have a gps and don't know how to use it, I'll try to help.

Usually there's a potluck dinner Saturday evening. I think there was a pot luck Friday evening at the last one. I didn't get there until a bit late. But I'll be there early this time.

There's a couple people that do the dutch oven thing, I just started doing that and still learning. I'll probably bring mine. I've been trying to perfect a dutch oven breakfast. I make much more than Anne and I can eat, so I'm willing to share.

Mostly we sit around and swap stories, look at trailers, and eat. Oh, and throw fire wood on the fire.

More than likely I'll be bringing some wood and carving knives so I can sit around the camp fire and make chips.

Linda&Dale, we can do whatever we want to do! That sounds pretty opened ended, but it's true. If you want to swap movies, let us know and others may bring movies to swap too. Don't know if there's any horseshoe pits (maybe someone who calls to make a reservation can ask and post the information here ). I love to play cards...cribbage, etc. so maybe we could do that in the evening? Nancy is probably the most experienced at Dutch Oven cooking, so if she and Michael are able to make it, I bet we could twist her arm and get her to give us all a bit of a lesson.

This is a pretty small group...if you really want to be busy...ya gotta go to the HUGE Oregon Gathering next July.

Byron's right...we spend a lot of time eating

Heavens...my computer's stay home!
