Roger, we've tried to keep this gathering loose and laidback. Heck, this is the first time we're going to have name tags! Yep, probably a potluck Saturday night and a potluck breakfast Sunday before those that are leaving pull out. I like the idea of hotdog roast Friday night too

There will be lots of lawn chair time, The area is beautiful, the park large and perfect for bicycle riding if you choose too. Trailer tours are simple. Find someone standing near their trailer and ask to see it No set time for that either.

The weather could be ANYTHING. The last several times lightcoat or sweatshirt during the day, woolies at night...the campfire is pretty popular when the sun goes down. What we don't want is RAIN

No I haven't gotten to the appliance place yet to get a firepit...thanks for reminding me

Roger when you get your reservations, let us know what spot and I'll update the list on the first page
We chose 11-A near the facilities. I'm sure that the rest of the loop will fill up eventually. Thanks for the info on the potluck/weather etc. We're really looking forward to the maiden outing of our "new" Bigfoot and meeting you all. R n' B

Ah, it's nothing Members that are trying to get a new gathering off the ground don't know how easy it really is...pick a place, pick a date and people just want to come with their molded lightweight fiberglass RV's Everything else just sort of evolves.

I dropped everything today and started working on my Name Badge. Anything to get out of house work.

Cool

I'm looking forward to the gathering, but will have to do some repairs to my trailer between now and then. My trailer was broken into and vandalized last week parked next to my sister's house in Springfield. Fortunately I had removed everying of value after my last camping trip. Mostly they trashed some things and broke a few things. Just a note to let those of you know who live in the area. In the past it has been a very safe area, but recently there have been some thefts and gas taken from cars.

Ah dang Kathy I'm sorry to hear that Theft is bad enough, but to be purposely destructive Hope it doesn't damage your pocketbook too much nor slow down your ability to go camping.

Joy A...I hear ya! Any excuse works for me to NOT push the vacuum.

We visited Waterloo today and just drove around the A loop. There was a great big motorhome parked in our spot! Park looks good and very peaceful. Also noticed there are covered picnic shelters in the day use area and was wondering if we could use them in case of rain?

Donna, I think the expense will be low. Will have to replace the microwave and they seemed to have unhooked some flexible hoses underneath the right seat. I'm not sure yet what that is. Thanks for your concern. Mostly it's just disgusting that people would do such disgusting things to your toy trailer.

The shelters, like in a lot of parks, are available either on a first come, first serve or pay to reserve. Don't know how the rest feel, but I'm not willing to put out nonrefundable money on "maybe the weather will be bad." The weather was less than stellar in October...but not a steady downpour either. We had several EZ Ups (which aren't) over the picnic tables and it was okay. I purpose that anyone who brings a shelter (I will) put it up as soon as possible...even if not needed right at that time. If we had 5-6 shelters, most over the "pot luck" tables...we would be okay.

However, if there's a bunch of rain falling...the permanent shelters would probably work best. I don't suppose we'd need to worry about them being already spoken for either. I don't remember exactly where the shelters were Vivian...are the close enough to the campground to carry food...and walk? Or would we need to drive to them?

Your suggestion for canopies for the picnic tables is good, and I agree that no one wants to put up money for something we might not need. The shelters are close enough for the ambitious with cold food to walk, but old people like me with hot food might prefer to drive. Distances are deceiving...

Hello All-

I finally got off but lazy behind and reserved 2 sites for us and Bob and Judy Webb. We are in A15 and A17. We will be in some time Thursday the 26th and leaving either the 29th or 30th. We think we might be in the Eugene area as early as April 21st and will hang out with friends until the 26th but plans could change between now and then. Berry has been working hard on the floor of our trailer so it will be ready to roll by April. Seems like every time he goes to fix something he finds another problem. I am sure you are all fimilar with that problem. So with any luck and fingers crossed we be seeing all you guys in April. We are looking forward to this gathering and seeing all of you wonderful people again.

Welcome back to the mainland, Taylor. We have enjoyed your wonderful mushroom chowder a few times this winter. Yummmm! As you probably know from the forums, your fire tub was a big hit at the last gathering, too. Say hi to Linda. We look forward to seeing her at the gathering.

Charlene
