Lake Casita (anyone going w/a dinette trailer ?)

Not sure if this is the proper way to ask ? I was wondering if anyone will be attending this rally that has a 13 footer with a front dinette. I will be there with a pwerris pacer and i'm looking for ideas on how to do this conversion/ table size etc?

Thanks in advance

Hoping to hear from someone that is willing to let me check out their trailer...we will be in site E21

Hi Cindy and Alan

Both Friday and Saturday mornings there will be time for you to check out trailers. We have Open Trailers and most will happily show you their pride and joys.

We do have 5 trailers coming that are 13', however I don't know if they have a front dinette... a 13' Burro will be in the Egret campground.

Come to the BASS campground for all the activities. Bring your chairs, small table if you want and anything else you might need for the day and evening activities. Egret campground is close to go back to, if you need something.

I'm the 13 foot burro in egret 2. I have a front bench - no table. Sorry. But I am excited about another 13 in the neighborhood!

Lake Casitas

Nancy and I and Chico the dog will be there on the 25th to 29th with our Escape 19 at F-9. There must have been a cancellation or the site has snakes, as it was open today.

A quick word of warning - and a request for your tolerance of diversity: Al and I (and my mother, Helen, and Tai the JRT) will be in site B-4 Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights in ... gasp! ... a big honking stickie with a pop out. When we originally planned this trip we didn't yet own a trailer and our thought was to go and meet you all and have a look at your trailers and then make a decision about what we wanted to buy, and buy it next year.

Well, as it's wont to do, life got in the way of our plans and we ended up buying a used 17' SD Casita last month, which we then thought we'd bring to the rally BUT my mom (in her 80s and ornery as all get out!) really wanted to come, and she was very resistant to sleeping in a tent or stacked like cordwood with Al and me and the dog, so ... back to plan A. Lake Casitas staff is going to drag one of their rental trailers onto B4 for us, and we are going to stick out like the proverbial sore thumb. But we're going to have fun!!

It looks like it is down Highway 101 by Ventura, Ca, maybe 6 hours south from Sacramento, Ca. It really looks like a neat place.

Lake Casitas Recreation Area and Park, Ventura, CA - Google Maps

Half-way between Santa Barbara and Malibu, inland near Ojai. From the 101 at Ventura, take the 33 north toward Ojai. In the town of Oak View turn Left onto Santa Ana Boulevard and take it to the end. Turn Right onto Santa Ana Road and the main entrance will be on your Left.

After you check in at the booth, you'll see this sign in front of you. Turn Left.
Bass Campground backs up along the fence you just passed on Santa Ana Road.

Lake Casitas Rally

Hi everyone,

Like Liz says, we too are getting ready to roll and will be at the rally campground Thursday morning.

Come to site 14 for badges and a map showing where everyone is. Remember jackets - nights do get cool.

Weather looks great. Please drive safe. A fun time is waiting for you.

See you soon

For anyone driving south on Highway 101 be alert to the road work at Carpinteria. The lanes are narrow just past the Lake Casitas / Highway 150 exit. Do stay on 101 for another 20 miles to Ventura, and use Highway 33 toward Ojai..

Highway 150 from Carpinteria to Lake Casitas is a great sports car road, but not RV friendly.

I just packed the Wheel Weighers, and will bring them with me tomorrow.
