Smile Ode to Bolerama

ODE TO BOLERAMA

(Sung to the first tune that pops into your head)

Pardon me Roy,
is that the Boler Chat ‘n Chew-Chew?
On the Lake Erie shore
where we gather once more.

From near and far,
they arrive by the dozen
for a weekend of fun,
friends, food, fresh air and sun.
...

Bumble Bee and Harley D, indulge in your dreams
some colour up their mini-homes
in oranges reds and greens,
matching sets and flowers
with something that says "ours"
the sky's the limit, so it seems.

Scamp Casita Tril-li-um and Big Footer too
Snoop around ‘till you have found
some mods you want to do
Escape from cares and troubles
Burro in Fred's bubbles
and indulge in Donna's Bar-b-que.

Watermelon, strawberries,
a cookie or two,
food galore and plenty more for everyone to do,
as it's getting hotter,
jump into the cooling water,
or maybe join with friends to hoist a brew.
...

Although more to say
this has run too long
so we'll call it a day
with an end to our song.

But stay atuned,
and let us make it clear
you're all invited to be
in a new verse next year.

I knew you would get it done. Probably worked on it all the way home. Sure was a great rally, just went to fast. Hope everyone had the fun we did. Hope to see everyone next year.

I wish you could have been there too, Theresa. The weather was perfect. And it was so nice to see friends we'd met at other rallies.

Maybe next year .........

Is it just me or is this the tune I just sung it to?

Right on, Don! Thanks. I had forgotten exactly how it went and didn't have the smarts to pull it up, as you did. Now I'll never get it out of my head.

ANTIQUITY CHECK

This has been haunting me all night. I had assumed that everyone knew "Chattanooga Choo Choo". But, after Don's wonderful video which kind of illustrates just when the song came out, on sober second though, chances are that this tune is not even in the heads of 98% of FGRV members.

Hmmm, guess that I'll have to turn up my hearing aids start listening for catchy current music.

Don't do that. When I hear current music I take my hearing aids out
and put them away.

I wont need hearing aids for a while yet but I get my 40's fix via satellite radio - ch4, (40's on 4)

"Turns out, grampa really did know what good music was"

all this garbage that they churn out for 12 year old girls these days is simply that.
