Proposed PineKnot Activities

How talented are you guys? Surely there are some who plan on attending PineKnot-2 who can play the guitar, fiddle... Tuba? Kazoo? How about bringing your instruments and an impromptu campfire sing-along might develop.

Bring your dominoes, your playing cards, your Scrabble game. I am looking for some Texas-42 players, but most everyone knows how to play "regular" dominoes.

Registrations are coming in slowly but surely. If you have reserved a spot with the campground but have not registered with us, please do so. Please use this Registration Form. Likewise, if you have registered with us but have not reserved your campsite, please do that too. Tonkawa's website is HERE.

Toby and I are so excited about the Pineknot Rally and meeting all you fellow campers. We've camped our whole lives but are brand new at "Scamping". Have only had our Scamp for a couple weeks and love it more every day. Sometimes we just go sit in it and drink our iced tea. Hope this message gets through, I botched the first attempt on Aug 5th. Color me red on my computer skills. Anyhoo, just wanted to say "Howdy" and can't wait to get there.

Greeting from currently warm days and cool nights. What are warm days and cool nights for you? To me a warm day is 70 and a cool night is 50. Are we speaking the same language?

We don't have A/C so would not enjoy 80's during the day, or 70 at night.

[b]SOMETHING INTERESTING THAT WAS POSTED ON ANOTHER FORUM:

Quote:
I (Gethereaux) was a Boy Scout camper at Tonkawa from '48 through '51. Then I was a waterfront instructor the summers of '52 - '54. Any stories you have heard about how cold the water is are likely understated! The refrain of our time was, "The water at old Tonkawa, they say is mighty fine. But when you jump into it, it freezes your behind." I have VERY fond memories of my time there.

My wife and I now live in Tennessee. We pick up our Casita in Rice on 8/23 and are trying to arrange our schedules to attend the PKF Rally. We should know within a few days whether or not we can make it. I hope it works out.
Good luck and safe travel to all,

My husband, Toby, got a message from another Scamp owner that lives right here in our neighborhood. He wanted to make sure we knew about the Pine Knot Rally. Since I don't have the email address, I just wanted to let them know how much we appreciate the nice gesture and that we are signed up and rarin' to go. Hope they are too. We are anxious to meet them, we live just 3 blocks off the same road that they do. Small world, isn't it?

Sharon:
That's one neat thing about a rally such as PineKnot. You can make new friends from across the country, across town, or just down the road a piece.
