Hi all,

We hope that everyone had a great summer and fall last year as well as the long cold winter. I am sure everone is dreaming about new plans foer the summer. New plans for the little trailer I bet too.

We apologize for the delay in the announcement of the location of this years event. As in past years we run in to the same difficulties. We could go ahead and prebook the same location every year and that would be the easy way. One problem with that method is that we exculde some new locations that might to wish to host the trailer get together. Another difficulty that we run into is that we talk and email the people that are on the campground boards during the summer and have discussed some plans, only to find out that the campground boards usually change personal every fall season, so then we have to pretty much start all over again with new people with sometimes different ideas.

Lots of the people that manage or on the campground boards have heard of the Prairie Egg Gathering , but have little or no knowledge of how large we have grown. Many problems arise when you tell them that there will be over 80 traiers attending. Most places can handle 20 or a few more but 80 is usually out of the question. Most don't have the space for that many trailers or facilities for that many people. The majority of our people attending would prefer to have power outlets and at least be able to have a shower. The last few years we have have had many campgounds interested, but either have very few electrical to none and have outdoor biffys. After expalianing what we are looking for in a campground and what most are able to offer, we are able to trim down only a few that would be able to host the event of this size. We wanted to be fair to everyone so , the campround boards wanted a few times to meet in the 2009 season before giving us their decision. We gave everyone until the 15th of March to let us know. There many good ideas and a few that may be able to accommodate us,but after going there myself felt that we would either over whelm them with our numbers or their facilities would never be enough for our needs.

That being said, the 2009 Prairie Egg Gathering will be held again at Macklin Lake Regional Park.

PRAIRIE EGG GATHERING

July 16-19, 2009
A four-day eggstravaganza!</div>

We have been welcomed back to Macklin Lake Regional Park. We had a very warm welcome from the Macklin Chamber of Commerce, the town, and the campground. The Regional Park is 1 km south of the town of Macklin at the junction of Hwys 14 and 31 in Saskatchewan. Macklin is near the Saskatchewan - Alberta border, between Edmonton and Calgary. Hopefully this will help people in more northern areas to be able to make it to the meet. This is a very well-treed campground. The following links will give you more information about the site as well as some great photos. There is swimming and a 9 hole golf course. We look forward to seeing everyone again.

Location: .4 km South of Macklin on Highway #31

We feel that we have found a site that will be equal distance for all. Macklin Regional Park is located very close to the Alberta & Sask. borders, so we are encouraging everyone to attend. By popular demand, we have eggstended the meet to four days, but don't worry if you can only come for three.

We are very fortunate to be able to all be camping altogether. There will be electrical sites for everyone. We are asking for everyone to double up (two trailers only to a site).

We have worked out a very favorable deal for the camping cost and entrance fee. The cost is $20.00 per night per trailer. The campground has waived the daily entrance fee. There are very clean bathrooms and loonie showers that run on forever. As in 2008, we have extended the meet by an extra day, helping out people that have longer distances to travel. There will again be the famous PEG potluck supper on Saturday, as well for the kids and adults, there is a Trout fishing tournament on Saturday afternoon at the Trout pond. Prizes for the winners. For the fishermen out of province, you will need a Sask. fishing license ( you can obtain a day one at the campground office). and the kids under 16 yeras of age can fish for free. So bring your fishing gearand have lots of fun.

REGISTRATION:
Everyone that would like to register for this year's event, please e-mail Greg Boler77 (boler77[at]sasktel.net). We are asking for people to include names of people attending, trailer make and year made and how many gatherings have been attended. Please do not contact the campground for reservations as the park is closed and they have asked us to do our own registration. Please let us know if there is another trailer that you wish to be paired up with. If not, this is a great way to meet new people. So that everyone is treated fairly, nobody will know their site numbers until they register and make payment to the campground office on arrival.

Please let Greg know if you have changed your email address in the past year or two. Please be assured that your email address is not shared with any other parties.

For the fiberglass trailer owners that have not attended a past Egg Gathering event and would like to view some pics of past years events, click on the following link. Both 2005 and 2006 photos are that this link.

Please feel free to contact Greg Boler77 and more information will be e-mailed ...
