Sorry Oreo, I had a hard work day today and am at home with my sore feet up!
I have to work in the morning for a little bit, then I will come out. Hopefully you will still be there.

Michele and I had a nice time. It was good to attach some names and faces.
We are in Midland, TX now - on to Hill-A-Pallooza.
Safe journeys for all....
Alan & Michele
p.s. - Dang it - I have to update my map icon - we have now added Texas to our travels.

We arrived safely home yesterday afternoon.
We had a wonderful time, it was a much needed break this time of year!
It was so nice to meet people and put names with faces, what a great group of people!

To all our new and old fiberglass friends, it was great to spend time with you last weekend in AZ and have some phenomenal weather to enjoy. Safe travels until we meet again.
P.S. Dalton and Kate are still buzzing about all the dogs they got to meet, play with and walk. We appreciate the reception everyone always gives to the only children at the Quartzsite gathering every year. When we ate at "Sweet Darlene's" the waitress told us they were the first children she'd seen in several months....

Hey I concur about putting faces to names. It was sure nice to meet so many folks that I had only known via this and a couple other sites. And it was surely nice to see some friends I hadn't seen for quite awhile. I couldn't believe how many people came knocking at my trailer.
I don't remember anyone saying how many trailers there were so I will, 56.
I got a couple of ideas for my trailer while at the gathering. In fact, I just finished making a noise deflector for the generator exhaust. And, while at Quartzite after the gathering wound down a bit I took time to put an insulation inside the generator box as a noise reducer. Thanks for the ideas, Mel & Gene. I can't post pictures of the exhaust noise deflector as all the batteries to my camera need charging.
I took time to look for LED light bulbs while at Quartzite and found ones that I liked. They are simple bayonet mounts which replace the regular bulbs. I changed all four lights inside my trailer.
Although I got sun burned the first day, I've browned up nicely now but my nose did peel. I'm not a desert person and hadn't been south for a couple of years and I did find it quite nice. Lily and I continued after the gathering through southern California and on to the coast. We were happy to see the ocean but I couldn't take Lily down on the beaches so we headed north to the Central Coast where I knew she was welcome.
Once again, had a great time at the gathering...thanks to all.

Just wanted to pop in and say that Gloria and I had a terrific time at our first ever RV gathering. The weather and camaraderie could not have been better. We tried to introduce ourselves to as many as possible but I'm sure there were a few we missed. Our loss for sure. A special thanks to those that parked next to us for putting up with our 6500 Watt construction generator. All of the episodes of Hogan's Heroes aired that weekend and I wanted to catch as many as possible. If someone knocked on our door to complain about the noise I probably wasn't able to hear them. The volume on the TV was turned up to drown out the generator noise. We look forward to returning next year and hopefully we'll have some colorful yard art to display like Doug & Michelle. We may need a larger generator though for the lights.
But where was Arizona Eileen?

She was eating Chicken and Dumplings with us (Egg 4 Us, John and Joan) near what I call the third Circle... LOL
This was our first gathering and we so enjoyed ourselves.
I missed the Hogan's Heroes weekend, our loss, well you can't see it all in 3 days and meet everyone, right?
John and I will be back next year, for sure.
Still on the lookout for Shirley and Lee and John H.
Thanks everyone for an great first trip.
Wishes and Peace
Joan

What: Several days of free boondocking fun for all fiberglass trailers.
Where: Dome Rock area, Quartzsite, Arizona.
Directions: Aprox 5 miles west of Quartzsite on I-10, take Dome Rock Rd. exit (#11). If heading west, go under the overpass at the end of the
offramp. Head east on the frontage road a mile or two. Pie plate signs will be posted from the offramp. You will see us, onbody has gotten lost
yet.
Camping: Dry camping ( No facilities)
Surface: Hard packed dirt.
Wine Tasting! Click here for details!
Campfires: These are fine but you must bring wood.
Water and Dump Station: In town.
Markets: In town there are a couple of small markets.
This event keeps getting bigger each year. We had 32 trailers last year and are looking for over 40 this year. Really looking forward to seeing old friends again and meeting new ones.
