I'm gonna get to meet Mary!!:)
Nah, nah, nah, nah boo-boo, I just did! Beat you to it Leslie! ;)

Just kidding about the nah, nah part, but not about meeting Mary. I had the good fortune of meeing Mary and Skip this past weekend. I was passing somewhat close to their area and they braved the nasty weather on Superbowl Sunday to come and meet me. They are both really nice people and I know that you will have have a great time. Just wish that circumstances would allow me to be there also. Y'all have a great time!

Texas Bluebonnet Casita Fest

Further Information.

Late Saturday afternoon we will go to the Lost Maples Cafe for a group meal. I have never eaten there myself but I have friends in the area that give it a very high recommendation. I have contacted the owners and have been assured that they will have no trouble handling our group. If you don't wish to attend let me know.

This is the only group meal planned so be prepared.

Bob Hunt is furnishing the marshmallows. Don and Claudia are bringing skewers to roast them on.

Richard and Patty are the official firewood comittee. There are small grills at each campsite so we will pick one and use it for a group fire.

Be sure to bring chairs.

We will have 2 30 cup coffee pots. We will furnish the coffee you furnish the cup. We drink ours black so if you drink recreational coffee you need to furnish your own ingredients.

We will have a Casita show and tell. If you want to know something about your Casita there will be someone there who knows. If you want to show something about your Casita there will be someone there to listen and look.

We will have bird watching, hiking, live music, relaxing and enjoying life.

We will have at least one expert trailer backer on hand,

There is a dump station as you leave the park. If you have any questions or need assistance
ask.

The roads are narrow and crooked with many deer so BE CAREFUL.

When you have confirmed reservations be sure to contact me directly with your names location and contact information. This is for head count and nametags.

This is the Texas Bluebonnet Casita Fest. All small fiberglass travel trailers are welcome.

>>Bob Hunt is furnishing the marshmallows.

Nick, is he also bringing the wienies? :sick That is some kind of weird ''menu'' Bob's cookin' up. (I remember he said they eat out a lot, and I'm beginning to understand it!)

If it's all the same to you, you and Marlene can have the spot next to Bob - y'all can put Skip and ME all the way down on the end. (Probably will happen anyway, as we'll be among the last to arrive.)

For those here who don't read other boards, some of the folks who are planning to attend the Texas Bluebonnet Casita Fest (all fiberglass travel trailers welcome) are getting a bit giddy with anticipation. They're talking about eating wienies with marshmallows and stewed okra.

Yuck -oh.

Probably just doing it so's those who can't go don't feel so bad about what they're missing.

Jana,
If they won't let you in, you can come knock on my trailer door. You can stay with me. I'm gonna be across the hills from them...that's why I can go.

Les, It's the very idea of marshmallow-stuffed wienies that I object to.

You'll have to ask Nick what's wrong with stewed okra. (Of course, I guess you just did.)

Bluebonnet Fest Bird Hike details

Sunday Morning - 8.00a.m. That's Daylight Savings Time!!! - meet at parking lot shown on map below.

Hi Group. John was selected for jury duty - argghh! We plan to arrive on Saturday, so I have scheduled the bird hike for Sunday morning.

NOTE: Sunday morning is the start of DAYLIGHT SAVINGS time. Sunrise is around 7:30a.m Daylight Savings. Please meet us at the middle parking lot (see map picture) at 8:00 a.m. for the birding hike. We will be set up there with a spotting scope and we can bird watch there while people gather. Then we will hike up the (west part of) the East Trail a ways and bird watch.

Should take and hour to hour and half. It will be easy walking on a good path with gradual climb. We will be going slow. Wear sensible shoes, bring binoculars and water to drink.

Please don't forget to set your clocks forward on Saturday Night or you will miss it!

best Audrey

Thanks, Audrey!

Sorry John's jury service interferes with the camping plans, but glad y'all can make it on Saturday!!

Is it just me or is this particular time change confusing? 8 a.m. for a birding hike seems late!

(I can hardly wait!)

Monday Morning

Wow! That was a load of fun, at Lost Maples with the golden cheeked warblers and a bunch of people in funny little fiberglass travel trailers (which all happened to be Casitas).

Of course, a bunch of 'em are still there... and I can't get over the unfairness of that...

But, it was a beautiful weekend, a beautiful place, and a some really nice folks who know how to have a good time.

I didn't get many photos. I hope some of y'all who did will share (when you finally get back home, that is)!
