The Third Annual Myrtle Beach gathering is February 15-16 at Myrtle Beach Travel Park, weather pending. We will not need reservations in advance so this can be a last minute gathering if need be. We will have use of the club house for pot luck on Friday evening. The location is North Myrtle Beach just down the road from the outlet shopping, Mall, Wal-Mart and Camping World. More information as time gets closer.

Welcome Don and Nancy of Hartwell, GA , and Ken C and Mike and Mary of North Carolina. We are now up to 10 attending. Will keep everyone posted as time gets closer. No reservations needed as the campground will have plenty of spaces together and near the bathrooms. We will have the clubhouse to use as well. This is a weather permitting event.....

We sure have a great group of folks attending this years Myrtle Beach gathering. As we move closer to the valentine’s Weekend event our numbers continue to grow with some new faces as well as some old friends. We are up to 21 attending.

Jeanie from the campground is going to place us in the B section so we are close to the Arcade which serves as the club house during the winter. It is also next to the indoor pool and hot tubs. She has been generous in allowing me to use the oven in one of the villas for cooking.

As you all know no reservations are needed for this event. When you check in just tell them you are with the Casita group and they will escort you to our area. If you arrive late after the park office closes tell the security guard who you are with and he will give you directions.

The site below shows the park campsites and you can see where we will be located. Sites “B” actually is on the main road to the campsites so you should not have a problem finding us.

We will be having a Friday night spaghetti dinner for everyone and ask that others bring something to go along with the spaghetti dinner. Also bring your own plates, and silverware and cups and drinks. After dinner and desert (hope someone brings desert, hint, hint) we will have a "How To" question and answer session. and a social. Anyone that wishes to bring something more exciting other than tea is welcomed.

Saturday morning we will have coffee and a breakfast provided by the hosts in the club house. Again bring you own silverware and plates and cups.

Saturday afternoon will be time to get out and see the area, go shopping or check out Camping World. A marathon will also be taking place in south Myrtle Beach if you wish to drive down and watch it.

We will keep you update as we get closer to this event. If anyone has questions or is thinking about attending please contact me by e-mail. As most of you past participants know that when we put on a rally or gathering our signature thank you is a bag of goodies. Knowing how many will attend is important so no one is left out.

A ham radio buddy, Chuck Helms KI4SIU is the campground manager, he was telling me that there was folk showing up for the event by Tuesday. I'm going to be at the Marathon Saturday morning at the 25 mile aid station, but I'll be heading up to the campground after the marathon. Unfortunately I won't be camping.
