I'm sorry to say I'm back.:sad
The 4000 mile trip was GREAT! The weather was perfect. No rain at all , amazing!!
Staying at KOA'a due to the holiday rush proved to be very nice.
No neighbors with loud generators anywhere Charles.
I must say tho the Miles City ,Montana could use a major updating ( last updated in the 60's I'd guess).
The others were very nice.
Sticky cottenwood stuff all over the place too.
First night was at a small campgound in Ashby, Mn - very nice
Sundowner campground - I recommend it.
Here's a list of the KOA's
Miles City, Mt - nah
West Yellowstone KOA - Very nice, peaceful
By the way ,across from me was a 13 ft
Scamp from Tennesee and a 17 foor
Casita from Texas. Very unusual. The Casitas owners name was Bob and didn't know about this site. I gave him the info- nice fella.
Sheridan Wy. - very nice, peacful Saw a Air Force loaner
Casita that looke like it never was washed.
Spearfish SD. - Very nice, peaceful.
Visited some friends at the Mt. Rushmore KOA. Seemed nice , but very crowded and kinda crazy. SAw a Navy loaner
Casita that looked worse than the Air Force one. I was glad I stayed at Spearfish. Also Spearfish served some really good Mexican food.
Mitchell SD. - Very nice, peaceful
We spent the last night at Goose Island County Campgorund just south of LaCrosse, Wi. One of my favorites.
Saw a lot of RV's parked at Wal-Marts overnight, so I guess that still works in a pinch.
In Mitchell,SD. I found a brand new left complete tailight for my 81'
Burro with
license bracket for 13 bucks. I couldn't believe my good luck!!!
My wife asked what the big deal was, I tried to explain but I don't think I got the idea across.
The
Burro performed better than expected. I caravaned out to Yellowstone with two other trailers one a 27 foot big tall thing that was blown around by everthing that passed it. ( Equalizers , anti sways) the other a pop up behind a pickup.
Glad to be back and I hope all of you had some really good trips.
Wil try to get some pics up A.S.A.P.
