6'5" in most FGRV's is considered being height impared. You would have to sleep on an angle in most, especially a Compact-II.

I just measured the bed and its exactly 74" x 59" (6'2" x 4'11"). Hope that helps.
Hi Ellen,

I was wondering. What is the actual exterior size of the camper? (especially height and width)

thank you,
Cristian

Factory Specs indicate that the Hunter Compact-II is 13' long, 78" wide and 81" high. That means that it will fit in a standard garage IF you have a roll up door. Some tilt-up doors may not clear, measure yours first. FWIW: It also sez that the bed is 59" x 75"

Thank you, Bob. That was great. Do you know how the Compact II and Compact Jr compare when it comes to exterior size?

There are brochures for the the II and Jr in the Document Center, under the Compact | Hunter Industries brand. Perhaps checking there will give you answers you seek: Fiberglass RV - Document Center - Compact | Hunter Industries

Can't you and Hubby pull the Compact II with your bikes? That way you would have a potty, place to rest have a snack etc.

Nah, ya can't do that...

Compact's didn't come with brakes so it would over run the bikes when you tried to stop everything. Unless you change the axle, it's a bear to add brakes, and if you change the axle it won't fit in the garage any more yadda, yadda, yadda....

But it was a good idea...

1973 Hunter Compact II - SOLD

Thanks, Chuck, you're always full of such "unique" ideas!

In any case, it was SOLD this afternoon to a nice guy who has loads of previous experience with RVs and boats and will have plenty of future mods to keep him busy. Watch out for Alameda Tom (we baptized him with this "handle" before he drove out with the trailer) and his mods in coming months.

Ellen
