1979 Triple E Surfside For Sale

I am considering selling my 1979 Triple E Surfside. It's a beautiful unit with many extras, including a convection furnace and a new fridge. Window cranks have all been replaced with new crank assemblies and also a new deep cycle battery with a trickle charger up front. Includes Porta Potty and an extra 3 burner stove, new in box for someone who wishes to upgrade from 2 to 3 burners. Has two propane tanks . Also has a screened in front door. Many other features as well. I'm asking $5500.00 CAD for anyone who may be interested.

Ed

PS: Trailer is in Northern Ontario. I'm not sure how to change the AB to ON. Will work on it.

Um Ed, pictures?

Also, not sure why, but the in the forum list, the title for your ad show it in Alberta. Or, at least that is what I think AB means.

Very few other than distance and needing a passport to cross the border. The exchange rate is in your favor right now. Importing a trailer older than 25 years is pretty straightforward. There is more information here. Looks like a very nice unit. Is this the model with the front kitchen and huge rear bed?

More Pictures to follow

Hello to all interested.

I'm really not sure what is required for permits from Canada to the US.

I messed up on the add and the prefix says Alberta but in actuality it should have been ON but I dont know how to change it.

This model has the bed/table at the back ..kitchen along the side opposite the door. Along the front is a couch/single bed (narrow) with storage beneath.

I will post some interior pictures as soon as possible..hopefully tomorrow.

More Pictures as Promised

Got out and took a few pics today. The velcrow screen door has a zipper to open and close. This was a 1200 dollar addition. Please excuse the messy bed.

Some more Interior Pics

Tires are almost new. Very low mileage. Bearings repacked last summer. Fridge is new..used one summer..roughly. Two known issues. Water pump on sink needs replacing and one window pain is cracked. The trailer has electric brakes but I never used them, so not sure of the status of them. (my wiring harness didn't have the extra wiring necessary)

Any other questions, feel free to ask.

All the best,

Ed

Munroe, this is a classified ad. You might want to repost your question in a new thread in the "Owners Helping Owners" section. It will get a lot more visibility there and, I am sure, some useful responses. A picture showing what your windows look like would be helpful.

I got mine from Vintage Trailer. Be sure to get right or left operators..depending on window. They're called torque bar operators-left or right.

Hi Darrell,

The Trailer is 14 feet in length. The dry weight is 1400lbs. The GVW (loaded weight) is 1650lbs . I tow it with a Ford Escape V6 with no issues.

PS: Sorry for late reply. I goofed and replied by original email which doesn't work. Thanks Mary for bringing this to my attention.

Surfside for sale

Hello;

I am possibly interested in the Surfside trailer you are selling. Is it still available?

I have a few questions:

- Where are you located exactly? ( I am in Ottawa)...
-can you provide photos of the porta potty?
- are the electrical systems working ok? (12v and 110v)
-any issues with the undercarriage (axle, frame, bearings, etc)?

Thank you.

79 Surfside

Hi Jerome,

Yes, the Surfside is still available. It's in great shape.

I'm in Marathon, Ontario, 3 hours east of Thunder Bay..4 west of The Sault.

I dont have any current photos of the porta potty at this time but certainly I can get some. It's had very little use..if any.and there's enough chemicals to last several summers easy. I kept it mainly for emergency use in the middle of the night. It's 'The 12L Passport Potty and retails for around $80.00. I'll get some pics for you.

There are no issues with the electrical system (12v and 110). All is well and fine. A new deep cycle battery and Napa 1.5 amp trickle charger installed 2 years ago.

The only issue (electrically) I could forsee is adapting the electric trailer brakes to your vehicle. I never needed them with my Escape, so never purchased the gear for them. The under dash gizmo and such.

The undercarriage is fine. Wheel bearings were checked and repacked 2 years ago. There's approximately 2000 miles on them since being repacked. The frame looks very good and I've got underneath and painted as much of it as I could reach. Having said that, there's no visible signs of frame, axles or wheels failing. It's been quite well looked after.

I'll try and get out to take some pics of the Porta for you ..and perhaps I can get a shot of underneath as well. .

Hope this helps with your questions. Please feel free to ask as many as you like.

All the Best

Ed Burton
