Lightbulb 1980 Burro for sale: any suggestions on pricing?

I bought a 1980 Burro about 2 years ago for $4000. It is in great condition, but does not have a bathroom or a refrigerator.

I am thinking of asking for $4000 again in the new year, but I'm wondering if that is kind of high.

Where do people weigh in? It is in mint condition, owner had upgraded an electronic pump on the faucet and replaced the cabinets.

Just curious, we are in need of money unfortunately but want to get one last trip in January before I have to sell it.

Hi MimiC,

What I would do is check the "For Sale" archives here (in other words, the sold trailers). While you will not be able to see what they actually sold for - only the asking price; you will be able to see photos in many cases, in addition to how fast they sold, which should give you some good info to go on.

A lot is dependent on location and season, so keep an eye out for where and when they were sold.

As far as your sale, I always find a good ad, with a clean trailer, lots of information, and numerous photographs does well. It's discouraging to work with a seller who practically makes you beg for information!

Raya made good points. Too, this is wet Oregon we're talking about... in the dead of winter. You may get a higher selling price when it gets closer to "camping" season. Since it doesn't cost anything to post a For Sale ad here, I'd say go ahead and try it... start high and be prepared to drop the price. After all, you can go down... but not up (successfully).

My husband knows how much I love the Burro.. and is refusing to let me sell it at this point. For now, we will hang on and see if we can find other ways to meet our financial obligations. Thank you for the ideas though, but we are going to keep her as long as possible.
