1984 Scamp 5th Wheel

Asking $6,000

I have posted this for sale before a few months ago however I didn’t have any recent pictures since it was at the family’s ranch. Two weeks ago I brought it back home and fell in love all over again. After cleaning her up I took the whole family out camping for three days near Uvalde, Texas. It didn’t take long for me to remember that Scamp and I were never meant to be; I am 6'2" and bang my head on everything… This has been a great first trailer for us, but, now its time for us to part ways.

The Basics:
3 burner stove
3 way fridge
Toilet/ Shower
14” Wheels
Freeze you out original AC
New, Jan 2000, Suburban water heater
Awning

What I have done:
Reupholstered dinette and couch/bunk
Replaced dated carpet with linoleum and carpet
Removed tape that covers wall covering joints and caulked joints
Painted the wall covering with gripper
Resealed windows

What doesn’t work:
Inverter; never worked for me
Gas heater; never worked for me / I could not figure it out

The hitch that was given to me is a monstrosity so you’re better off having your own made. If you need pictures of anything specific just let me know. The following pic’s I took last week before our trip. JFHudson@satx.rr.com

This is a sample of what we covered the dinette and couch with since you can't really see it in the other pictures.

I don't know if this matters but...
I have a lot of the original paperwork, an attachment that allows you to tow from your bumper receiver (never used it, afraid), and 2 caster wheels that connect to the bottom of the front leveling jacks so you can push the scamp where you want (I guess).

Thanks
John

Hi John
I have a Scamp5r and read your post with interest. Mainly, "the attachment that allows towing from the bumper hitch". Would you post a pic of this and maybe tell us more? Thanks so much.

It appears as if I need to retract that statement. I pulled that thing out to have a look and take a pic (should have done that before posting) and now I don’t know what to think of it. I am the third owner; the first was someone who lived in Canyon Lake Texas so this item may very well be what you call hick-built. This may be something fabricated to move the trailer short distances.
Sorry

Thanks again;
that is interesting John. Thanks for taking the time to get the equipment out and take the pic. I would be afraid to move the 5r using this as well; but it appears someone used it. Well, thanks again for the update.

Yes, it is still for sale. The price is negotiable; I hate to see it sitting.
