1989 Bigfoot 17' $5,500 in Eugene, Oregon-sold

No interior pictures yet. This classic 'G' model was altered somewhat on the interior by a previous owner. Some changes are okay, like the Marmoleum floor, other not something I would do -- like replacing the upper cabinets with shelves. Everything works fine, has newer catalytic heater instead of the original, weight-distribution hitch, sway control, Fantastic Fan, Bearing-Buddies, original manual, CD stereo, good rubber, side bed made into a 'queen' roughly-speaking. I was going to restore to something closer to the original. Just don't see that happening any time soon and hope you can enjoy it rather than let it set. I sold an older one years ago for $7k so I think this price is reasonable. Not interested in quibbling about the price -- at least not till the new year.

Hey I'm pretty interested. I'd like more information and specs.

-What the dry weight?
-What is the tongue weight?
-Does it have a toilet or shower?

I'd like to see more pics of the interior or a floorplan.

I can't tell folks what the towing capacity of their vehicles are -- check your owner's manual.

Roof would easily support kayaks with an appropriate rack. Fold-down bike rak for the rear is included in sale.

Here is what I found in my files for pics. Others will need to wait as the BF is in storage.

My 1980 Bigfoot 15B17G Standard model (no shower or hot water heater) weighs 2500-2600 lbs. ready to camp. It has a tongue weight of 340 lbs. with 2 full propane tanks and battery on the tongue. There are very few 17' Bigfoot trailers around lighter than mine. The roof is a minimum of 8' above the ground. One would need a 5' ladder and lots of strength to put and remove a kayak from on top of the trailer.

Re: Weight, I am relying on the reported dry weight of the manufacturer as stated in their brochure above. As for the wisdom of mounting a rack on the top, I will leave that for the future owner to decide. I would rather mount on the rear for convenience. But to each his own.

In answer to a recent enquiry:

The trailer is perfectly usable as it is, and in fact I have and continue to use it, although it has been winterized and stored for several months.

Windows are fine, caulking is fine, screens are fine, all the equipment works. If you decide to change the bed arrangement, you may have to make one or two new pads. The trailer does not leak.

Here is what the previous owner did:
1) removed the small closet by the bath so the gaucho bed could be widened.
2) removed the door to the bathroom and replace with curtain so as not to interfere with the bed when folded out.
3) removed the divider between the door and the gaucho bed
4) removed all upper cabinets and replaced with a simple shelf system
5) added a hook up for solar panels (not included)
6) made the dinette seat next to the door removable (so he could store touring bikes)
7) shortened the dining table somewhat
8) reframed the door jamb to make more sturdy
9) added Marmoleum flooring
10) replaced the furnace/blower with a propane catalytic (radiant) heater
11) made some changes to drawers
12) added a Fantastic Fan
13) added a CD stereo system with speakers

Thanks for all the interest folks. The BF is sold to a buyer in Virginia (that might be a record-breaker).
