Randy L:that was pretty cynical (and unusual form for fiberglassrv.com)...

I didn't do eBay, because I would like to bring extra foot traffic to the Yard Sale and I don't want eBay to get a cut. The more traffic to the yard sale, the more lemonade and cookies the boys can sell.

If you can make it to the Yard Sale, great! Hope you make the winning bid! If not, don't go around piddling on someone's charity auction.

eso si que es

I will of course update everyone Saturday afternoon!

+1 You will probably end up donating a few grand to the scouts and this guy gives you a hard time?

Can't wait to see the outcome, I am sure there will be quite a few potential buyers.

Now when you post on this forum your cynical. I just reviewed your statements, and hope you post how this thing ends.

The beauty of forums is that your actual words are there for all to see - and re-read.

Indeed. We observers need to know whether to come down on the side of the cynics or the cockeyed optimists. How bout it, JMB? My guess at the beans in the cookie jar: 4800.

I had every intention of going up and bidding on this however the cynic in me wanted to do a little checking first. I went online and checked the event calender for all the BSA chapters in the area and none listed a yard sale for this date, other dates yes. I then called to see if it was inadvertantly left off the calender and no-one knew what I was talking about. I didn't go, hope I didn't miss out.

Well, I would have googled the hardware store and called them, The OP membership date was what may me leery. OCT 2012, and he stated he bought the trailer off this forum. I would think he would have an older date. Maybe he will still come back and post pictures. I hope a person got a good deal and the BSA also got a good deal. Time will tell i guess.

Randy I dont know where you live but people in my city often donate generously items to local clubs or charity that are sold off at silent action during a club or charity event. They will also try and do what they can to generate interest in the item ahead of time in hopes of generating lots of bidders and more funds to the club/charity. Around here its a pretty common way of raising funds for a club or charity ... nothing weird about it.

I applaud the OP for their generosity and hope that by having posted the info here they do indeed generate a lot higher bids than they may have otherwise.

Very possible to buy a trailer off this forum without being a member. Anyone can read this forum and the for sale section without being a member.

The local online version of The Spectrum under the Around Town section reads
"Community Cub Scout Pack 4802 will conduct its annual yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Hurst parking lot on the corner of St. George Boulevard and Bluff Street." dated Oct 12 2012

I think that someone is grumpy because they didn't get a deal on this camper. Hint: It isn't you, Carol.
