Unfortunate what happened to the Escape 19. The damage seems to be the front end and that is the smallest and grainiest photo. I cannot tell from the poor photo if the front fiberglass is cracked or just scratched.

Appears that the fresh water tank was ripped off and the cabinet drawers are missing. I might be a bit concerned about the frame, definite damage in the rear and perhaps more on the front. After that it is just conjecture.

No inside photo with the front end, would guess that was where the most damage occurred.

Yeah, it looks like a little more than minor. Too bad the smallest picture is the one that shows the most damage. Well it's 5.5 hours from where it was made. I wonder what Reace thinks it would cost to repair?

Assuming a generous 30% depreciation for one year. That would bring the value of the trailer down to $18,000. They are asking $6K. I seriously doubt that is $12000 worth of repairs. Then again I could be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time.

There are more and larger pictures to better assess the damage here:

The back bumper looks like it got hit...take a close look at the wheels and their relation to the well. I'd bet the whole frame is jacked.

I also noted the missing cabinets, and since we've been in a deluge of rain here in Portland, and that trailer is uncovered, well, even if it was "minor" damage then, I'd be betting it's worse by now.

Anyway, let's keep playing "House", diagnosing this baby. Keeps my mind off all the problems in my Casita that I'll be attacking this winter!

With the cracked fiberglass I would guess windows are messed up, front hatch is an option on that unit but it appears damaged, the frame is definitely FUBAR, then you get into interior woodwork, walls and perhaps water damage.

The air conditioner looks good, perhaps the refrigerator, and other appliances; maybe you part it out?

It might have a salvage title or something similar, too; something to check into.

You betcha it probably does; if the insurance bought it, that means it was totaled.

Figure the fridge is worth what--a grand, at most? And for all the photos show, the trailer could already be gutted...the reason for missing cabinetry and cushions.

Another clue is this: The seller is obviously a salvage auction dealer. They know when to cut their losses with a vehicle. They've probably already called the good folks at Escape, as well as their usual RV repair gurus, and figured out that it isn't worth it.

Not to say that it might not be worth it for somebody with mad skilz, favors to call in with welders/craftsmen, and big love for this trailer.

Edited to add in response to Alf's simultaneous post: I sure hope the original owners are OK!!! But yeah...knowing it was rolled would be a deal killer for me.

I believe the accident was caused by the additional water tank installed by the trailer's owner. The factory installed water tank is under the body; noted that in one of the pictures there is an additional tank in the under-bed storage held "in place" with two metal straps. With TWO filled water tanks in the rear (and designed for only one tank) it was the tail wagging the dog so-to-speak that caused this accident.

This is one of those deals that may be a great deal,,,or not.

If that is the amount of damage that happens from a roll Escape should be doing design work for our motor companies. Having witnessed a jack knife accident in person I tend to think that is what happened. The trailer has a name on it and the plates show, so maybe some poking around could get the real story of what happened.

I believe that the water tank in the trailer is not an extra tank but the original one put there for safe keeping. The "missing" parts may be there too.

If someone wanted to take a good look at the damage in person, seriously research what needs to be done to fix it by calling the company, it might be a good project.

Actually, it may not be an extra tank. Escape has put the water tank under the bed to accommodate winter campers. Perhaps this trailer was one of those.

And did Reece give any opinion on it's potential for being brought back to life?

Rolled? Onto it's side?

I think of rolled as in all the way over and this clearly has not happened to this trailer.

I followed Roy's photobucket link above and you can see a much better picture there. It does look like this trailer did at least one half revolution.

Difficulty +3, scoring 9.6 overall, with a 7.0 from the Russian judge
