Actually "The Wonder Egg" is not for sale, though I understand how you could infer that from my post. (Oscar would kick me out of the house and look for another furkid owner)

The Ollie for sale is being sold by Kyle, AKA Desmo-Pilot on the other forum. I believe he lives in Arizona. Don't know what his price point will be. Best way to contact him might be through a PM on that forum. I was just trying to get the information out in the FGRV community about this first of a kind sale of a totally tricked out and awesome molded fiberglass trailer. The sale is even more unique, given that the production line is closed until next year.

Pete, I'm moving this to the Referrals since it's not your trailer. Prospective buyers should contact Kyle directly I would imagine.

If I recall right after the Quartzsite gathering last February there was an Oliver put up on Craigslist that I posted here in the referrals, by a couple that was wintering in Quartzsite. It was listed at about $29,000. They tried for about a month and I don't believe it was ever sold. Not being an Oliver follower, I don't have any recollection of what model it was, think it was a 2007. Maybe someone here will have a better recall of the details.

Just found the listing, 2008 for $26,500 2008 Oliver

Good grief! You can get a late model Airstream Bambi for that!

While it is a "pile of money" . . . as in most things in life, you get what you pay for. Kyle's Oliver appears to have items on it well beyond the norm for small trailers. The fine folks selling the Bambi units would not accommodate a single change to their standard profile (I asked them when I was looking for a trailer and they said "NO" and they were still 50% more in price) the twenty five high value upgrades listed on Kyle's specs list add increased value to an already superbly crafted FGRV.

Does the Oliver currently have the prestige of an Airstream? No, it's too new on the block. Are you saying that nothing fiberglass can never equal anything aluminum? I believe it can.

True - but the Airstream isn't molded fiberglass.

Just a heads up: in order to contact the seller or to post a reply to his ad, you must register on the Oliver forum.

Beautiful trailer! And I agree with Pete, many upgrades that are not even available on other fiberglass brands.

I get that Oliver pricing may be out of reach for some/most but no matter what it's a molded fiberglass trailer (isn't that what this forum is all about?) and should be admired as any other "egg" that we all gush over. The Oliver options far out weigh options we can get on other molded fiberglass trailer today, so yes there is a big difference in pricing. But I don't get why everyone has an issue with an luxury egg? But, no one ever has issues with a 30 year old "egg" selling for thousands and thousands of dollars, most clearly well over the original sales price.

I much rather had the Oliver than the AS, it is just gorgeous. Of course, luxury costs money! And from what I understand, quality in the Oliver is superb!

Oliver built some beautiful well-appointed trailers and I'm hoping the economy comes back around so they go back into production. I was fortunate to view several at the Oregon Gathering. While it may be more money than some are willing to spend, it is perfect for others.

Aren't we glad we don't all like the same thing? Variety is the spice of life!

I have checked out Pete's Oliver from front to back, underneath, inside the hull, etc " several times".. There is not a piece of wood to be found in an Oliver

I have seen why they cost more..

Why would having or not having wood make the difference?

The Oliver looks to me like it is very nicely made, and with excellent quality (from what I have read and seen in photos).

Some trailers are Chevies and others are Lexuses, from what I can see. People will by what they want and can (or are willing to) afford.

I think the Oliver seems like a neat trailer.

I was thinking maybe Phil meant... like a wood floor... nothing to rot there... ever. Still doesn't mean you wouldn't have maintenance issues, like vents in the roof and perhaps leaks between the hulls, but no rotten floor problems.
