2011 Casita SD Fixer Upper

I have to be honest, I don't know how you end up with an incomplete 2011 - but it showed up on CL and I thought I'd share.....

Well I called the guy, this isn't a typo! He says it's a 2011. It's been abused, plumbing issue, windows gone, weather has been inside! Small body work, cushions need work.
He purchased at a auction and doesn't have a place to actually store it, in order to re-hab it so decided to sell it. Said it pulled great (of course it's an egg) bearings (greased) , tires, lights all good to go.



I find it just crazy that someone would trash a 2011 Casita. Seriously? But hey this sounds like a great deal for someone who wants to take on a project.



See this in person, play it safe! Just a little odd for my taste. The guy sounded nice, but the whole thing is just a little odd! Too good to be true? Hard to say, unless you personally see it!

I googled craigs list nationwide and it only showed up in this one listing so it may be for real.

This sounds like something that may have been written off by an insurance company after being wrecked. It probably has a salvage title. I have looked at some of these deals at salvage yards and there can be some real bargains, if you are handy and willing to do repairs.

Joe, I am pretty sure it's legit, but I always warn people when things are "odd"! Frankly, I think the seller is ok, he even told me that when he went to the auction and bought it, he took a grease gun to grease the bearings for the trip home. Not many people are that smart to even check them . So most likely this is a legit sale. I just think it's very "odd" that a 2011 has been abused this badly!




David and Nancy, I don't believe this a salvage in the fact that it was in a wreck, I believe it's a salvage in the fact that someone abused the life out of a 1 year old trailer....... There is body damage but the seller said minimal, and I didn't get the impression the interior was due to a accident. The seller said the windows were removed.

Condition based more on that it was due to destructive abuse (at least my impression). Even the bathroom sink PVC pipe needs to be replaced. Missing all together.

Some occurrences are just unfortunate. Even I was incompetent once. That's how I gained my experience.

It sounds like you'd have to see the destruction of a 2011, to BELIEVE IT.

My guess is that this trailer was stolen, trashed by the thieves, and recovered/surplused.
Anybody know if there's a clean Title? And speaking of titles...in some states, salvage/replacement titles are issued with the "model year" being the year the title is issued-especially true if the original VIN# is missing.
If that's true in NM, this trailer could be older than a 2011.

This is the camper that was in the tornado in Joplin Missouri. It was auctioned off near me
and probably sold cheap. Tornado damage is why it looks like it does not personal abuse.

If this is true I can believe it looks this way.

I saw a Rubber Garden hose stuck somehow through a big tree stump there!

I saw a dining room table and chairs sitting on a house floor in what had been the dining room and the people said it was not their dining room furniture it just landed there?

I saw Aluminum folding chairs stuck into a cement foundation like an arrow.

I would believe almost anything based on what I have seen there myself.
