It appears to not have a bathroom. Does it come with a port-potty of any kind? Thanks

Thanks Steve. Wish all the "rivet" lovers could see the first pic of yours. I seen none except for the appliances external covers. VERY nice camper.

Is the conversion from US Dollars to Canadian Dollars about $21,780.00 ? In other words is $18,000.00 US = $21,780.00 Canadian?

Thank you Darral, the trailer is mint as it has been kept in a garage most its life.

As of today your calculation is correct.

Yes it is listed on the escape forum and the price is listed as USD. Thanks.

We have had a lot of interest by people in the US who do not want to deal with border issues. We are heading to Boise this summer and could tow the trailer.

Afraid that's a no-go, Steve. The buyer must legally import the trailer or hire a registered importer to do it for them ($$$). I believe they'll need (1) signed Canadian ownership document, (2) bill of sale, and (3) US DOT compliance sticker on trailer or letter from manufacturer indicating same. They'll get paperwork at the border without which they cannot register the trailer in the US. See Importing Travel Trailer to United States | Fiberglass RV's For Sale.

Depending on the state you plan to register it in, you may have to deal with "border issues" anyway even if the trailer is located & sold in the US, if the trailer has a Canadian registration. NY, for example, requires a completed 7501 form...

Unfortunately its not a state by state issue, its actually a National issue.

It is illegal for a Canadian registered trailer to be taken into the US and sold, without first having been legally processed at the border as an imported item. The trailer will never get registered anywhere in the USA to the buyer if that does not happen first. It can only be imported to the US by the purchaser/new owner or a US Registered Importer.

Escape Trailer Ind. by the way is a legal US Registered Importer (or its called something like that) and if asked they *MAY* be willing for a fee to process the trailer at the border for a US purchaser. I say MAY as I don't know if they will do that or not for a used trailer, I just know they do it for the new trailers they sell to US buyers. It may be worth calling them to see if they offer that service.

A friend purchased a used Scamp registered in Ontario, CA & before purchasing we checked on what needed to be done to import it. The range was from hiring a broker @ $700.00 to doing the paperwork yourself @ $0.00.

While the paperwork may be more difficult for a Canadian made trailer than the Scamp since you need proof that it meets US safety regulations, it was not at all difficult. Did a transfer of ownership in Canada, got a temporary plate, filled out the 7501 at the border, registered it in NY. All done in an afternoon.

I would not think it would be difficult to obtain on this trailer as it was made by Escape who sells their trailers into the US frequently, so they are having to issue the letter required stating it complies with the US Safety Regulations frequently. They may want to see the trailer first though to make sure it has not been modified though since they sold it.

I BTW had to get the same type of letter from Scamp when I imported my Scamp to Canada stating it was built to Canadian safety standards.

Thanks for the info everyone.
We had a2008 airstream that we sold to a person in the states. He did not have a tow vehicle so we towed it to Wash. state. At the border we were told he would need to get the 7501 form at his dmv, pay the applicable taxes. We had bc plates on the trailer, which we took back with us. He did not have any problems, but that was in 2010, maybe things have changed.
