Bargman lock

Found an old lock in garage cannibalized from an old trailer. It is a rotary lock, but i have no key. It locks inside by lifting the handle. The chrome is a bit rough on outside but mechanics seem good. Anyone need this for parts?

Is it like this one? These Bargmans come with the knob on the outside, and then either the lever or another knob on the inside. I had a double-knob one on an old truck camper.

I'm not interested myself; just thought I'd try to put a "face" with the description.

BTW, this photo is from Vintage Trailer Supply, who carry them.

Wow, the double-knob version would be great for keeping the dogs in. Our inside lever model automatically unlocks as soon as it is pressed down. Yes, I understand the unlock feature is meant for safety, but is sure makes it difficult to keep the dogs in the trailer.

They do still sell the double-knob one new, Roy. Vintage Trailer Supply has it for one example.

I'm not sure how thick the door on your trailer is, or how "smushable" the lockset is, but if I remember correctly it's made for stick-built camper door thickness, so you might need to customize something.

I can't remember on my double-knob one if you turned the inside knob to unlock it or if there was a separate lever. If it was a lever, it would have been a small, out-of-the-way one that the dogs would have a tougher time with.

I like levers for the same reason they allow your dogs to escape; easy to open!

I have seen quite a few posts about the L-400 locks. Mine seems to work fine but is there ANY replacement out there? I do not care about originality I just want one to work if mine breaks. Are there any that are a direct replacement or do they all require some sort of modification to work? Randy
