I'd go right now if I could!! I just hope I was the first to respond, with a 2 hour gap between when it posted to Craigslist, and my response time, that isn't too bad of odds. I have my cell phone charging... and we are ready to go!

I hope I get it.

I wish I could contact this listing and drive down today! Make sure you print off the sheet on what to look out for before buying this beauty. From a quick glance it looks to be a keeper, not to mention the price. I picked up a 1976 Scamp for $375.00 this past spring, but it was a fixer-upper. Just sold for just under $4,000. Good Luck who ever gets it. Let us all know how it looked in person.

I'd send them an email and say you'll buy it contingent upon inspection. Share your story and passion of trying to find something close to home and theirs is the first one that has popped that is in your price range.

Email them and say you'll give them $850. And if you don't buy it, they keep the $50.00. To good a deal to pass up. This way you will be first to buy it.

Not yet, but the day is still young... I will post as soon as we know anything. If this one doesnt pan out, we may have a good one in Ohio, but prefer not to have to go that far to get it. I am hoping this one is the one!!

still waiting.......

Kirk (my man) emailed them this morning with an offer of $900, so if they pass up my message, maybe that one will get thier attention??

Hopefully this one will pan out for you. In my search, Someone found a free one in Ca. They guy never answered email. And, with no other way to contact him...I was out of luck. As it turned out, I found one literally in my own back yard. cost me a bit more than free, but didn't have a bad haul on an unknown frame and wheels. It all worked out in the wash...

Yeah, I am always a little skeptical when the price is so low, but still hoping for the best anyway...

still no word, I am guessing they may work or not check their messages early in the day...

Hi April,

I've been following your quest for an egg and when I saw the post this morning, A BURRO FOR ONLY $800 in Texas! I thought, WOW, April's patience has really paid off. Haven't seen any post since this afternoon and guessing it's about 7/8 there so here's hoping you're on the road, scoring your new rig.

I wish we were on the road getting this one, but we have not heard anything yet. I noticed they posted the listing around 10pm last night, so maybe they only check thier messages in the evenings?? still trying to stay optimistic on this one. It would actually work out best for us to be able to go up on Friday as there is another event happening in Austin that we were planning to go up for anyway. I would happily drive over there first thing in the morning though, if we could just set something up. I hope we hear from them soon. It's almost 8:30pm now.

I guess I'll just have to keep waiting and hoping!!

If and when I do get my camper, I will be sure to post photos and keep in touch with this group, as I already feel like I have found a new family here. Thanks for all the well wishes and advice in this egg journey!

Ok, sent another message. I was starting to get worried, that if other people were emailing about this, our emails would get pushed down the line, and not noticed. I feel kinda helpless when the other person does not respond or give a phone number. They may just be waiting for the weekend to deal with it, or just have limited access to the internet.... time sure does stand still when you are waiting for something like this. Still trying to stay positive though! Maybe we will hear something today?

Send 'em an email and tell them that you would like to be second in line. Ask to see if you can come down anyway, "just to look"...That is how I got my Basset hound...I made a 12 hour trip, even though a lady was already coming to meet her. She thought Bessie was too fat... and she was looking at a Bassett!!! Surprisingly, Bessie has perfect weight, and the vet thinks she is the trimmest that he as seen. Needless to say, we were the ones to go home with her that night...she has been my constant companion since.
