Thumbs up

I bought a used trailer that had scorch marks on the stove top. Not being able to remove them, I decided to spray the top black with stove paint. Looks worse, of course. Anyone have or know where I could buy a used Casita stove top for a 1989 16' trailer?

How about: RV Doctor George. I've never bought anything from them, but I understand they're reasonably priced and nice people to deal with. They'll probably want to know brand and model number (and maybe dimensions) before they can help you effectively.

I am in north TX also. May be interested in your old stove if you end up replacing the whole thinga ma bobber; burners and all. My cabin is all electric and since I run off batteries for lights and LP for refrigeration I would like to go to LP for cook top too.

Ebay often has great deals on new stovetops. I saw several new two and three burner cooktops today for $41.95 plus 15.00 shipping, buy it now price, for Atwoods. Just a thought.

If what you hate is the black color, prime and paint white with appliance (heat rated) paint. My father-in-law and my father painted ranges in vacation homes that were out of date colors (turquoise and harvest gold), and the paint jobs lasted longer than the ranges.

I will try the white, the black is flat (got it for the wood stove) and looks awful. Needs to be shiny. Maybe I picked the wrong paint. I'll let you know, George if I junk the whole thing. Thanks for the info Donna, but they didn't have any stove tops, just the bottoms. I think everyone must have the same problems.

You can also have it powder coated for pretty cheap. I'm guessing around $20 last time I had one done. Looks just like factory and you can also have the range hood and furnace grilles done at the same time so they all match and have a nice brand new finish.

Just got a quote to powder coat a three burner top - $120 - $150. Yikes!

Update - Called a motorcycle customizing shop and asked for references to powder coat. Got the stove top and all the trim (side and back rails, vent piece), two colors, coated for $100. The pits from the corrosion are still visible but the coating is so thick and glossy that they are not noticeable.

Good luck

The following is a camper Item they have 4sale if you can not find them under their seller name. Item number: 300326582717

Found some semi-gloss heat resistant paint. I'll let you know if it looks any better. Thanks, everyone
